On Baronne Street across from the Roosevelt Hotel, just outside the French Quarter, is a Roman Catholic Church possessing strong Islamic and Western European features. The stained glass windows, paintings, sculptures, and mosaics contribute to a remarkable aesthetic and spiritual environment. Known locally as Jesuit Church, its congregation draws from the metropolitan area and visitors to New Orleans. Built in... More

Attended mass several times at this church, the alter is beautiful and the architecture is amazing. Love to visit old churches, they are very special.

Awesome church to unwind after a walk. The paintings on the ceiling are well preserved. A really nice place to pray and meditate. Visitors were quite and the church was air-conditioned. A well preserved historical church.

Right smack in the middle of New Orleans and the river front lies the most beautiful church I have ever seen. I can't imagine the french having the ability to build such a magnificent building in an era of turmoil and chaos.

This is an incredibly beautiful church. You are at peace with yourself and everyone around you while visiting. It's hard to believe that some of it has been refurbished. The work looks just like the original work.

Attended an excellent evening Harp Concert in the Church and was provided a "Second Line" (Brass Band Parade) back to the hotel.

Lovely church worth seeing, and friendly parishioners who volunteered lots of interesting info about the church and N.O. in general.

This bilding is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Such a quiet and peaceful place away from the antics of the quarter, but only steps away. Beautiful architexture, and religious... More

Beautiful. This church decorates itself, no need for excess flowers, etc. The ceremony was perfect for the bride and groom. I believe they were able to bring in their own priest.

We were passing by and noticed this gorgeous building with beautiful windows. When we crossed the street we found out it was a church. We went inside side and found a absolutely beautiful church. Gorgeous life like statues. The stained glass windows were beautiful. There was a very ornate altar and beautiful wood and wrought iron pews. We sat in... More
