The Spotted Cat is a small club that always has great music. Stop in, grab a drink, and enjoy the music. Oh, and be sure to tip the band.

It wasn't my first trip to New Orleans. But it *was* my first time to the Spotted Cat. A long bar with a small stage and smaller dance floor, this club still manages to attract top-notch, young talent, and brings even even greater, nearly professional dancers who, in their own elegant Fred Astair-come-Beetnick way, burn up the floor to highly... Went twice during our brief New Orleans stay. Great dixieland jazz bands, cheap drinks, no cover charge (1 drink minimum per set) ... just a great hole-in-the-wall dive where I would gladly go every night. The afternoon set 3-6pm was great since it wasn't so busy - able to get a seat close to the band. The evening set is... More

We visited New Orleans in 2012 and loved the Spotted Cat. Sitting here working all I can think of is being in this small vibrant venue. I loved the music, bought some CD's which I listen to often. Sure it was small, over crowded etc, but people still found room to swing dance! the atmosphere was fantastic and the music... More

Preservation Hall is fine but this place is far better. Great live music, no cover and we sat 10 feet from the band. There are several other music choices within a block and all but one were free. The Spotted Cat is super casual, there were a couple business guys in sport coats but far more guests were wearing t-shirts... More

Good atmosphere, music and drinks! What else do you need? I think it's one of the best bars in Frenchmen street in Nola. They don't serve food but you can BYO.

Frenchmen's Street isn't what it used to be with fewer locals and more of the convention and bachelorette set. Great music on FS, but here? Let's just say I was underwhelmed for what I thought would be a great vibe and energy. It was more of a wallflower convention and certainly lacked the tunes of a big twist and the... More

If you are looking for a laid back bar with drinks that are not expensive, this is it! The jazz music is awesome! It's a small hole in the wall, but totally worth it!
