This is a fun, lively venue to hear some up and coming trad jazz performers. Get there early if you want to sit down, be sure to have a drink per set, and don't forget to throw some money in the musicians' bucket!

Nice place to sit and listen to music on a Sunday afternoon. Just for the cost a beer. Small venue so you are right next to the musicians.

The music is awesome and whether it's a crowded Saturday night or a slow Sunday afternoon, this is the place to be for great old school jazz. This is NOT a good spot for conversations and on the weekends it really does get packed, so expect to stand and expect to just enjoy awesome music. This is the perfect place... More

We visited a number of venues, but this was clearly the best for relaxed and cool live music. It gets lively at times and the atmosphere was amazing - a real energy in the room.

The Panorama Jazz Band was awesome ! Their joy in their music gave the whole place energy! Cheryl, our bartender, was quick and courteous. Plan to pay cash. There was no cover, but there was a one drink minimum per set. The only downside for us was the cigarette smoke. Once the place filled up, the smoke got rather thick.... More

We went here most every night while visiting NOLA. The music is some of the best. It is small and there is limited seating. So come early if you want/need to sit. We never paid a cover and beer was $5, mixed drink $6. It can get very, very crowded, but that is part of the fun. We would walk... More

I've never had so much fun. I was traveling alone and felt like the bartenders and patrons here adopted me as soon as I sat down at the bar. They drank with me and swapped stories...and the music was fantastic. I had plans to hit up other places and I didn't leave there the first night because I enjoyed it... More

Was in New Orleans on business and learned that a friend who lived there had art hanging somewhere on Frenchmen. I went to the address given but there was no such address so I ducked into The Spotted Cat to get my bearings. It was pretty early, around 6pm on a Monday night. There may have been five people there... More

Reasonable priced drinks with talented local musicians taking to the stage to entertain the masses. I really enjoyed my two evenings here. All types of people frequent this bar locals, tourists and passers by who are drawn into the place by the music. Well recommended - do not miss.

This is the place for great music. As others have said, for the cost of a drink you get the best time in NOLA. It can get packed, which just adds to the ambiance, and if you want a seat, come early. Brian is the best bartender in the city. Don't miss the Cat!
