the groups that played at Spotted Cat while we were there were simply amazing, the only problem is that it was extremely hot inside

Får away from the excesses of bourbon St, the spotted cat offered some great concerts during the time I went there. The ambience was cool with a lot of young people, but not too drunk like you'd find in a jazz club in the quarter. Beers are ok-priced, but just the jazz and environment is worth it!

This is a great place to have a drink and listen to some great music. It's much more laid back than Bourbon street, which was exactly what we were looking for. The drinks are a little pricey, but there's no cover charge to get in.

This place reminds me of an underground kind of club, where the lighting is low and the place is small, but it's a lively atmosphere. No cover but there is a 1 drink minimum here, which is no big deal. We love to try local beers wherever we go, so I tried the Abita Purple Haze, which is a raspberry... More

One of the best places to find great New Orleans Jazz music nightly. Casual. Old building. Fun. Can get crowded at times. Unfortunately, smoking allowed and can get smoky. Music is awesome 7 nights a week from 6PM until 2AM. Some days, starts at 3PM.

This venue catered more to my style. I found a few other venues in the area to be catering more to the 'hipster' crowd. The Spotted a Cat had a good NOLA style jazz band in a small nice venue. Staff seemed friendly enough and was a typical bar with a clean New Orleans vibe. Worth a visit if you... More

This place is great. We skip Bourbon St. and hang out on Frenchmen's when we visit NO now. The whole street is full of fun spots and feels far less "spring break -ish" than the rest of the Quarter. This club has some of the best music around. Plan to stand. Get a cocktail or beer (not much of a... More
