American Bicycle Rental is a local, family owned business - we are not a national chain. Look no further, you've found what you are looking for. Bike Rental is our business - we strive to give our customers the best possible bicycling experience that money can buy. We provide helmets, locks, baskets, lights for night riding and the best cycling map in the city for FREE! We offer the highest quality, most reliable bike rentals in New Orleans - check out our reviews across the web and see for yourself. There are cheaper rentals in town but as the old saying goes, you get what you pay for. We have the only secure indoor facility in the city for 24-hour self-returns. ALL of our bikes are made in the U.S.A. - not just a few. Do yourself a huge favor and rent one of our top-notch bikes, you'll be glad that you spent the extra couple of bucks for a quality ride and superior equipment!

We stopped in on a Wednesday to inquire about renting a bike for Thursday and was told that we could rent bikes with no problem on Thursday. Nothing was said about Jazz Fest other than it would be hard to rent one during the fest (Fri. Sat. Sun.). When we arrived on Thurs. the price was kicked up from $30... More

Everything was great, the location, the people, the solid bicyles, helmets, and locks. They have a good system so you can return bicycles after they're closed. They provide a high-quality map, but warned against us taking the levee breach bicycle tour (http://levees.org/bike-tour-of-levee-breach-sites/). We did the levee breach bicycle tour anyways, and it was completely safe, in beautiful neighbourhoods, very interesting,... More

Walked in and walked within 10 minutes. Quick application process and nice, down to earth staff. Easy to get to and from in the city. Recommend as a place to hire and a good way to see the city.

I rented a bicycle by the hour here and really enjoyed myself. The price of the rental was a very reasonable $10 for 1 hour or $25 for 4 hours. I rented two cruisers and decided to tour New Orleans' French Quarter during the daytime on two wheels. The bikes were well-maintained. I even rode through Armstrong Park. All necessities... More

Hi SoloStarSky, Thanks for the great review, we appreciate you taking the time to write it! We're happy to hear that you had a good time rolling around the city. Regarding your suggestion for family and toddler bikes, we are maxed out for space at our current location don't have enough room for that type of inventory. Additionally, our insurance... More

Got a lot of static for bringing back the bike muddy -- it rained for 4 days and thru part of my rental. Everybody else was pretty even tempered. Went back the second day because the bikes here are the best. Checked out the other place and it wasn't as good. They were a little muddy again but everyone was... More

This was our second time renting bikes from American Bicycle and they did not disappoint. We will be back. Biking is a great way to see the city and the parks in the area. These guys are the real deal.

My girlfriend and I were taking our first trip to New Orleans for Mardi Gras and we knew we wanted to really see more then just Bourbon Street. After researching all bike rental companies we saw that The American Bicycle Rental Company was cheaper then most and didn't push a tour down your throat. They had plenty of bikes and... More

Renting a bicycle is definitely the best way to get around New Orleans, especially during the Jazz Festival! A friend and I who were visiting the city last year found out the hard way just how difficult it is to get back to base after the festival ends at the end of the day. The line-ups for a shuttle bus... More

Hi Dawneen, Thanks for the great review! You are correct when saying that a bicycle is a great way to get to and from the fest; standing in those long lines for a cab after a long day of festing is exhausting - a bike adds to the fun of the whole Jazz Fest experience. Ya know, JF is just... More

A bike is a great way to get around New Orleans. The American Bicycle Rental Company bikes are in excellent condition with high end accessories. The bikes fat tires allow you to cross over the Trolley Tracks with ease but weren’t too big to navigate the potholed streets of the French Quarter. The staff was super helpful and they have...
