Try the Charles Street streetcar for a lovely look at New Orleans on the other side of Canal Street and the French Quarter. The price is right.

We rode the streetcars several times while visiting New Orleans. We were on the Canal Street line. The senior fare is $.40 while the regular fare is &1.25. The cars are clean and comfortable. The operators are pleasant and helpful. I live in Pittsburgh. I rode our trolley's to work everyday for 30 years. Most of our driver's are cranky.... More

I love the street car! My daughter lives about 6 blocks from the stop at St. Charles for the street car. For $3.00 a day, or $1.25 per trip you too can enjoy this easy way to get around. You see lots of beautiful areas, and don't have to try to navigate it yourself. If you don't want to drive,... More

I'm glad I did this for a little New Orleans experience. It got me where I needed to go but goes slowly, which would be expected. The airport and hotels will have maps of where the streetcars go.

An inexpensive way to get around, very safe and informative. You see many interesting areas of the city and its very cost effective. It's certainly a must do, if visiting the city.

We lived in NOLA for a couple of years and I took the St. Charles line from work on Royal St. to our home in Uptown. Now we take the route just because the trip is fun and we can see the Garden District and Uptown and memories.

Really amazes me that folks can give the streetcars bad reviews! What are they expecting? They are efficient and you can ride them for only $3.00 for as many trips as you like until 4AM! A close reminder to our Europe trips. They were all friendly and helps the many tourists that come on and off all day talk about... More

We stayed in the Garden District and of course wanted to get down to the French quarter. We hopped on the streetcars. We found the drivers very kind and helpful! The streetcars were clean and it was a fun way to see more of the city! One day we just took a ride all the way to the end and... More

Well, we missed "Desire" but really enjoyed the ancient streetcars along St. Charles Avenue (from Canal Street) to Lee Circle (to get to the WWII Museum) and then back to Canal & the French Quarter via Carondelet St. No need to buy a one-day ticket @ $3. for this ride when we could have gone for 40 cents each way..
