Great bar, great drinks and great live music! The live Jazz bands were awesome and were playing early afternoon and there was still a big crowd on enjoying it! It's pretty easy to find and do great food too! Would recommend dropping by this place even if it's for amine drink to enjoy the ambience.

My husband and I ate there on 2/5/16. We booked our reservation online because it was Mardi Gras big weekend before Fat Tuesday. We arrived there about 10 minutes late for our 7pm reservation. Getting a cab at that time and with all the parades was not happening. I called them @6:50 to give them a heads up, but you... More

We walked in because of the band. They were young but sounded like the best of old souls. The seating was great and the drinks were good. I loved the atmosphere!!!!!! Best we found on Frenchmen!

I reserved a table for dinner and show. Not only do you pay a huge premium for this option...you are also forced to prepay a 20% tip. The table seating has to be the worse seats in the house. Anyone walking in off the street stands between you and the stage so you never see the band and get bumped... More

Bought package deal for 2. $80 plus service charge. Should have just walked on and saved a little. Food was great and so was music. Will definitely go back

I really liked the what looks to me as authentic music in this bar. The food is good and very reasonable priced but the focus is really on music and music only. A must try for each serious music lover.

Stopped in at 6 for a quick drink. Settled in for 4 hours! Enjoyed a local grass-blues band, followed by a blues band. Music good, environment good, house special drinks very good, food very good (especially the cajun mac n cheese). Service excellent. Prices reasonable. Glad we stopped in.

We really enjoyed this place. We saw the "Shotgun Jazz Band" here, and they were great! I loved the Shrimp & Grits, and my husband really liked the Crawfish Etouffe. But the Bourbon Pecan Pie for dessert was INCREDIBLE! We got one to share and ended up ordering a 2nd one! Delicious!

On the recommendation of someone we met in town, we went to Maison to hear Aurora Nealand and the Royal Roses - excellent show. We sat at a high-top table with a good view of the stage. Drinks and food were fine but nothing exotic.

We headed over there on a Sunday afternoon and we had a great time, we arrived and sat at a table to hear the end of one jazz group and then stayed for two sets of another jazz group that played at the back of the place with the dance floor. The dance floor was a little uneven, but it... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
