This is a four-star bar with three-star food and five-star music. It is on Frenchmen Street, just outside the French Quarter, and the street is worth a visit for the funky, authentic vibe, interesting music and restaurants. Maison is a music venue that makes some good drinks. We ate there, but the food wasn't outstanding. It's the music that makes... More

Cabbed it down to Frenchman Street and started walking. The music coming from the brass jazz band drew us in. Mixed drinks were reasonably priced and good. We stayed for a table to hear more from the band. The alligator balls were good and spicy, but the burger sliders were the bomb. The meat was fresh and tasty and charred... More

We went in because there was a wonderful group singing as we walked in the front door. We were seated and ordered a drink and 5 minutes later, they said they were taking a SHORT break. During their break, a band in the back started warming UP AND that went on for one hour and still was going on when... More

This was a great place to stop and listen to some zydeco music along Frenchman street. We did not eat but had drinks. There was a large area for dancing and lots of people were dancing and having a good time. We enjoyed our stop. I would come here again.

Second time I've eaten here. The ambience is great and the band was awesome. Our server took care of us and the food is magnificent. I had a portabella mushroom po boy which was out of this world. This please is a gem and a must visit when you're in New Orleans.

Intimate club situated on Frenchman St. Unpretentious with good music and generous portions of authentic Creole/Cajun food. Friendly service.

We went into Maison after having dinner down the block. We heard the music and had to stop. The jazz was everything I think of when I think of New Orleans. So so good. We didn't eat, but had some drinks at the bar...nothing to write home about there. But for a place to listen to great traditional jazz while... More

I went there twice on my most recent visit to NOLA. The music was great (trad jazz) and the "specialty drink" I had was lovely. I had wanted to try the bread pudding, but they were out and I "settled" for a wonderful pecan pie.

We wandered past Maison on our second night in New Orleans and moped in for a drink. Bar staff were very friendly and the Jazz was great. They have tables for diners that looked like they'd be great for watching the Jazz so we decided there and then to return for a meal he following night (our last night of... More

Visited on a Tuesday night just as the band started. I had shrimp and grits... Not much flavor. Husband had pulled pork sandwich... Very tough bread. Go for a drink, appetizer and music. Dine elsewhere beforehand.
