My husband picked this tour out because of the historic value of the trip. We boarded the Creole Queen ~ the only "Paddle Boat" operating in New Orleans at 2 in the afternoon. Lots of room for all the passengers to be seated comfortably inside or out. We had a historian aboard that gave us the history of the city... More

A nice boat ride to the site of the Battle of New Orleans. Great narration on board and at the battle site.On the way back the guide told the story of Hurricane Katrina.

We had pre-booked this trip before getting a horrible cold. They refunded our purchase price. Others we were traveling with took the trip. They could not say enough nice things about the guide and the sights. Wonderful customer service!

Our tour guide, Mr. Tidwell, was very informative and enjoyable. His recount of the battle of New Orleans and the history of the city was so interesting and the fact that he is a descendent of one of the historical characters made it even more exciting. The boat ride was smooth and just the right amount of time. The amount... More

Just the right length....During Mardi Graw. Its close to shops and walking distance to many more tourism spots. Weather was a bit cold and windy but very well worth it. I recommend to anyone to try. Its also comes with lunch or evening Live Jazz and Diner, as well.

The boat is beautiful, the weather was grand, mardi gras is partying in the city and we went for a leisure cruise on the mississipi. Amazing time. Amazing everything. Charles was talking, clear voice, good pronounciation (as french it is important!!) And amazing knowledge. Making the history funny and interesting. Wish my history teacher had been like that! Thank you... More

My friend and I took the afternoon river cruise that offered a buffet of creole and cajun foods, a presentation on the history of New Orleans, visiting a local battlefield, and a presentation on the way Hurricane Katrina impacted the city. I highly recommend this cruise! It was affordable and informative.

My wife and 2 kids, 9 and 7 years old had a great time on this trip. The kids didn't listen to the great narrator but they loved watching the huge ships moving down the river. The tour guide, Christopher Tidwell, was entertaining, funny and knowledgeable. We bearded at 945 and we were back at about 1245. I thought that... More

Staying in Central Business District

Neighborhood Profile
Central Business District
Compared to the more evocative monikers of some other parts of New Orleans, the downtown’s humdrum title might suggest that this area is all about business and little else. But don’t let the bland name keep you away from the Central Business District. The CBD offers a wide range of fun things to do that would be touted as exceptional in less jubilant corners of the world. Bordered by the French Quarter, the Arts District and Tremé, with the river at its eastern extreme, this hub for sports, gaming, shopping, theatre, family-friendly activities, and amazing regional cuisine makes a smart base wherever your interests lie.
