The tour was nice and informative. We didn't get to see a whole lot due to where we were on the boat. It was very dependent on where you sat on the boat and where the gators went to. Besides that go to the morning trip during the hot months because by the time its noon, the weather is really... More

I was visiting New Orleans for just one day with two friends and our children, ages 8, 9 and 10. We were looking for a comprehensive tour of the city and that's what we got. Our tour guide was well educated and very informative. Best of all, he kept the kids' attention throughout -- my 8-year-old son, who has ADHD,... More

The tour guide was knowledgeable and pretty funny. We saw several gators and got lots of pictures. Only wish was that I could hold a gator. I would recommend this trip for everyone though.

We went on this swamp tour and had the best experience. It was informative, fun and best of all we encountered swamp life with waterfowl and lots of alligators! Our tour guide was awesome (Capt. Bishop). We are still talking about the great time we had. So glad we decided on this tour. I would highly recommend the tour and... More

We did the swamp tour on a super rainy, miserable day of thunderstorms. We got a covered boat and were all worried that the rain would keep the alligators away--man were we wrong. We saw one of the jumbo gators almost immediately and saw 8 different ones overall, right next to the boat. I was so surprised by how many... More

We ended up choosing Cajun Encounters for our adventures since we could get a combo tour for a pretty reasonable price. We booked the city/cemetery tour as well as the swamp tour. The arrangements were made promptly and accurately via email. Very smooth process-no mixups. For both of our tours, we had to meet the bus at the NO visitor's... More

The Cajun Encounters swamp tour was recommended to us by the concierge at our hotel. She recommended we take the smaller boat because we would be able to see more of the swamp, however this turned out to be a disadvantage as it rained and the smaller boat had no cover on it. We missed a huge chunk of the... More

Decided to do the above tour and it was very enjoyable. We had a great tour guide who literally told us everything we needed to know, was nice to visit and see the areas affected by hurricane Katrina. We were only in the cemetery for 15-20 mins but it was enough as the guide filled us in on how the... More

We took this 2hour tour this morning. If you're visiting NOLA in the warm months, I HIGHLY suggest the early tours before the day gets too hot. Our bus was prompt for pick-up at our hotel. The drive out to the Honey Island Swamp, although warm, was interesting with narration by our driver, Rene. Getting tickets and into the boat... More
