Got back from New Orleans last Monday night. Although my wife and I have visited numerous times, this was the first time I had a chance to go to Rock n Bowl. I went with a friend of mine and his wife. My wife will have to wait until we go back as she had to babysit our 70 pound... More

This is a "must do" stop when you are in NOLA. Thursday is Zydeco and you can hear some local music. If you don't know how to dance to Zydeco music, just drink a little more and it gets easier. And there are plenty of people there who will show you. Make sure you wear the right shoes. Take a... More

My wife wanted to see some zydeco music. She thought we should go to the Rock n Bowl. I wasn't sure about the bowling alley. It was much more than a bowling alley. There were 12 lanes along one wall and the rest of the huge building was a big bar and a stage and a huge dance floor. Every... More

This is where the locals go to hear good music and dance. Plenty of picnic tables to spread out and meet the neighbor sitting across from you. Food is ok too if your hungry. The price is always right and the venue is one you won't experience anywhere else. On one side is a bowling alley and just a few... More

We went for the music and couldn't not dance! When we were too tired to dance we watched the "regulars" put on a dance show. It was fun to watch the different pairings that occurred among them at each new song. The performing group was headed up by Chubby Carrier. The music wasn't the best zydeco we'd ever heard, but... I have not been here since they relocated.Wow what a venue, bowl if you'd like but as for me I was here to take in Amanda Shaw what a little fireball , a dynamic singer who plays a pretty nasty fiddle. As for the food nothing to write home about.

Great energy. Great dancing. Great people watching. Eat at Ye Olde College Inn, a few steps away and be sure to order the onion rings.

This place has an incredible history. It is funky and fun. It has music memorabilia, a bowling alley, huge stage and dance floor, ping pong table, large bar. It is the place to be, especially on a Thursday night of zydeco music. There were dancers visiting from several states moving to the music of Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners... More

A really terrific way to spend the evening! Get out of the Quarter and get into the real city! Dancing and listening to a live zydeco band in a 1940's bowing alley... where everyone is having a great time ...and there is bowling! Drinks are cheap, the beer is cold and nobody cares if you can do the two step... More
