A friend and I went on the gondola ride. We had an absolute wonderful time. Robert was so kind and provided lots of information for us. It was a quiet, peaceful ride away from the hustle and bustle of New Orleans. We were able to take a street car ride back to Canal St. I would highly recommend this ride.... More

Our anniversary fell on Robert's day off. I was absolutely crushed, as this gondola ride was absolutely the only thing I wanted to do on our trip to New Orleans. I contacted him through his website and he sacrificed his day off to take us out. What a great gift! While the music and food in New Orleans are difficult... More

I cannot express enough much I loved the NOLA gondola. First off, the City Park was absolutely stunning. Robert, our gondolier, was a great guide. He created a wonderful, romantic atmosphere for our ride. It's no surprise that he's witnessed over 300 proposals on his gondola! He also stopped under one of the bridges and handed us a piece of... Robert Dula could not have been any more helpful with scheduling our gondola ride as well as helping us find our way around City Park when we got lost. The whole experience was wonderful and we will do it again if we return to New Orleans. The canals of City Park were beautiful as well as the many low bridges... More

We had a lovely time on the gondola to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The tradition of kissing under every bridge was fun. The gondola was comfortable and cheese, crackers, a corkscrew & glasses were provided - we provided the wine.

Our family of 5 took a late afternoon tour. After a long day of walking NOLA, this was an excellent way to relax and recharge. The gondola itself is a work of art, hand made in Venice. I would highly recommend for families and couples. I recommend booking several weeks in advance and time for just before sunset. We were... More

We had a great time and the gondola. The gondola driver and owner was full on information and I really enjoyed looking at the fish in the water. It was very romantic.

Lovely woman, great Venetian gondola, Italian music, cheese and crackers, and Beautiful 50 mins thru the lakes and canals of City Park. Super clean, drift thru the birds and trees, around the Art Museum Sculpture Park. BYOB champagne and Roberto supplies the glasses. Leave your names under the bridge, bring some bread and feed the dozens of ducks. Drift thru... More

We went on the 5pm tour. Was met by Robert who extremely friendly. We took the wine and he supplied the glasses, cheese and wine. He explained all about the gondola coming from Venice. We toured the lake , wrote our names under the bridge. If you go to NOLA this has to be in your must do list.

Staying in Lakeview

Neighborhood Profile
Lakeview extends inland from the shores of Lake Pontchartrain with much of the area reserved for family-friendly City Park. Home to the New Orleans Museum of Art, the Besthoff Sculpture Garden, Carousel Gardens Amusement Park, and the city’s own lush Botanical Gardens, City Park is a New Orleans gem and the perfect spot for outdoor fun with as much of a mix of culture and/or amusement as you would like. Beyond City Park more great excuses to stay outside beckon, whether on land or by boat. Developed a good deal later than most other New Orleans neighborhoods, Lakeview has a distinctively different look and feel compared to other parts of the city. Fans of mid century modern design and contemporary architecture particularly enjoy leisurely drives around the residential streets of Lake Vista, Park Island and along Lakeshore Drive.
