The theatre has quickly grown into one of the busiest spots along the bustling St Claude art corridor, and is one of almost half a dozen theatres in the area. The Shadowbox is one of the official venues for the New Orleans Fringe Festival, as well as one of the venues for the Hell Yes comedy festival. Performers have appeared on our stage from all over the country including the Amazing Acro-Cats from Chicago, members of Second City, the Upright Citizens Brigade touring company, and countless comedians from across the south. « less

I visit this theatre frequently and always enjoy my time there. A wonderfully intimate theatre that has a variety of shows. There is something for everyone!

Think of a basement at street level with an elevated assortment of hard chairs. We saw the "Vagina Monologues". It was OK considering the low $20 ticket price. The young staff was very friendly and the touring cast did a good job of enthusiastically bringing female injustice to the audiences attention.

I went to the Shadowbox to see "An Outopia for Pigeons" and must say I had a very pleasant experience. It's a small, very cool little theater located in what was a retail space. The show we saw was uneven, but we really enjoyed it anyway. The show after ours was a burlesque show and there was quite a crowd... More
