Description: Bike through the little seen parts of New Orleans with us and take a ride...
Bike through the little seen parts of New Orleans with us and take a ride through the rebirth of a historical neighborhood. See not only the damage from Hurrican Katrina, but the uplifting rebuilding; and more importantly, why the neighborhood needed to survive. We'll visit the levee, learn about the musical culture, and meet Ronald Lewis, local historian and curator of the House of Dance and Feathers. Definitely an unforgettable day.

I took this tour recently with ages ranging from twenty to sixty. An easy accessible bike ride for all. I won't repeat what has been said in previous reviews beyond I second all the positive remarks that have been shared. It was truly a wonderful way to learn about the history of a neighborhood that has been a vital part... More

It's a great tour. We had a beautiful day so it was even better. The guide lives in the Lower Ninth and knows the area well. The lunch stop at a local Po Boy shop is great. The stop at a longtime local resident's house to see the museum he has assembled to celebrate New Orleans street culture, especially the... More

After a few days encased in the fancy restaurants, hotels, and shops of the French Quarter and Magazine Street, my almost-teenager and I were eager to know how the locals live in New Orleans. What a wonderful, unique experience to spend a few hours biking with Derek and then sharing lunch with Ronald Lewis. Yes, we were tourists and we... More

This was an incredible find a little pricey but well worth it. We took this bike tour with a small group of six people and this two hour tour truly was an exceptional experience. Though tour included stops and history we went to a costume museum and met the owner we went and had lunch at a Vietnamese owned restaurant... More

My father and I went to NOLA for a guys' weekend. We booked this tour to see a side of the city that we might otherwise miss. I couldn't be happier with the decision. The 9th ward is an eclectic and culturally rich neighborhood. From the hipster Marigny with its colorful shotgun houses, bars and cafes, to the House of... More

We had a great day touring the Lower 9th Ward with Derrick. We learned about X-Marks (the way they marked houses during search and rescue after Hurricane Katrina), had po'boys, talked to a Spy Boy from a Krewe, toured a new brewery, saw houses built by Brad Pitt's Make It Right Foundation and met Ronald Lewis. Derrick was a great... More

My boyfriend and I went on the 9th Ward Rebirth Tour in Sept 2014 and it was one of the highlights of our vacation in New Orleans. The tour is approx 4 1/2 hours but don't let that deter you as there are many stops and the pace is very easy. It was a very educational experience learning about the... More

One of the highlights of our 3 state southern tour. We echo so many of the other comments made by other reviewers. Derrick was an engaging and informative guide and the stop in to meet Mr. Lewis was so special. What an incredible man with a fascinating life story and wonderful messages to share. A bit more history at each... More

Echoing the other comments regarding this tour, I also must say that it was among the best few hours spent during my week in NOLA. Our guide Jeff had everything figured-out and put everyone at ease from the get-go. I hadn't been on a bike in about 7 years, but five minutes in I was fine ("…it's like riding a... More

The bike tour was one of the highlights of our stay in New Orleans. Derek is passionate about his home town and was able to answer all questions posed. This is definitely not a 'look at what Katrina did' tour and there was never an issue of feeling unsafe. The tour travels through many wards and you get to see... More
