Description: Bike through the little seen parts of New Orleans with us and take a ride...
Bike through the little seen parts of New Orleans with us and take a ride through the rebirth of a historical neighborhood. See not only the damage from Hurrican Katrina, but the uplifting rebuilding; and more importantly, why the neighborhood needed to survive. We'll visit the levee, learn about the musical culture, and meet Ronald Lewis, local historian and curator of the House of Dance and Feathers. Definitely an unforgettable day.

Due to the rest of the group canceling at last minute (too hungover they said... Can't imagine that in NOLA) I ended up the only taker on the morning. Derek was delightful and even though we shortened things as there was only me was still a fabulous way to see a party of the city is otherwise know nothing about.... More

We were looking for a perspective of the impact of Katrina on the local community together with an insight to the local way. An experience rather than the tourist thing... Our guide Nick delivered!! From a cruise through the neighbourhood, meander along the levy top, history, Mr Lewis' museum and tribute to Mardi Gras and 2nd line parades, to the... More

It is difficult to choose one highlight in a city filled with so many highlights, but this bike tour through the Lower Ninth Ward is surely it! And, considering I have already been here for one month, it says a lot. Our wonderfully engaging, knowledgeable and entertaining guide - Reecy - has established an interpersonal relationship with members of the community.... More

I can't say enough about what an incredible experience this trip was. We took the trip on a cloudy Saturday in mid-March - perfect weather for cycling. The trip is an easy ride through safe streets and on flat terrain. There were only 4 people in our group and our guide, Reecy (apologies if it's misspelled!) was amazing. Witty and... More

Hubby, son and I went on this tour earlier this week. IT WAS OUR FAVORITE ACTIVITY/TRIP MEMORY! Reecy is a funny, smart and incredibly knowledgable and respectful guide. She has an amazing rapport with the people in the Ninth. You'll walk away with an in-depth understanding of New Orleans history in that area as well as how Ninth Ward residents... More

I had many reasons not to take this tour. It was too hot. I'm not athletic. Katrina tours are morbid. I had too much else to do. You don't need to be athletic to take this ride. It's slow and easy, with frequent stops. Also, it's far from morbid. The tour highlights the efforts that have gone into rehabilitating this... More

This tour provides an excellent chance to see a side of NOLA that you might not otherwise have. It was created and delivered with the best of intentions - to educate visitors and give something back to the community which unfortunately is only known for being the victim of disaster. We learned some of the history of the region, particularly... More

I have never experienced anything like this before. Bicycling in New Orleans is ideal. Streets are safe and a wonderful way to see the unique character of New Orleans neighborhoods inclusive of the lower ninth ward. Along the way our smart and entertaining tour guide enlightened us with history and facts of New Orleans and the unique resilience of the... More

We went on this bike tour this past Sun, March 1, with only my husband and myself! The weather was drizzling and the other guests cancelled! Derik, our guide lead us anyway through the streets, over the canal to the lower 9th ward. We felt very safe and were educated on the rebirth of this area. It was the highlight... More

I took this tour recently with ages ranging from twenty to sixty. An easy accessible bike ride for all. I won't repeat what has been said in previous reviews beyond I second all the positive remarks that have been shared. It was truly a wonderful way to learn about the history of a neighborhood that has been a vital part... More
