We went to d.b.a after The Spotted Cat and I preferred the latter, my husband the former. The cover was $5.00 to hear Treme, and the music was toe-tapping good - the vibe in this place was young, and it is great to see the interest in NOLA music by people of all ages. There is a great beer selection,... More

Saw the Treme Brass Band was playing for a modest $5 cover. Crowd was a bit light at the start of the show but filled up rather quickly with a youngish enthusiastic crowd. Band and crowd were feeding off of each other resulting in a rousing set of rocking muisic. Was able to order Rose' by the glass and the... More

This is not a very nice walk from Jackson Square. Although it is right down Decatur street, you go through some rough spots. When we got to the bar, the jazz band was playing and the bouncer was nice. We sat down to browse their expansive beer list and to listen to the music. The place was dead. We came... More

Bartender so so. Oriental bartender rude and short. Understaffed and drinks are average. Busy crowd and active bit a Tuesday. Wow. Not the service I expected.

Our airbnb host recommended that we check out Glen David Andrews while he and the band were performing at d.b.a. I loved this venue. It was right in front of the art market. It's a small space, so it was intimate. But big enough for a jazz show. The bartenders were pleasant and served quickly. The beer selection was great.... More

Ordered two Sazerac's for 9 each. Passed a 20 and no change came back as the tip was assumed. Second round from a different bartender and was suddenly 10 each. Passed another 20 and the bartender comes back and says what aren't you going to give a tip? Not that this review will mean anything or cause change. Drunk on... More

We have visited d.b.a. twice this year, both times to see Tuba Skinny perform (the best traditional jazz band in New Orleans, I guarantee!). A great spot for live music on Frenchmen St. Has room to jitterbug or sit and listen. Can get crowded on weekends, but that adds to the experience to be with a room full of enthusiastic... More

The best venue on awesome Frenchman Street. The Tream band was terrific. Good bar service to accompany a perfect music experience

Have been coming here for years for the great music as it is 4 block from where we live. Together with Snug Harbor this is one of the few clubs on Frenchman St. that charges a cover, but in past it was worth it because of the quality of who is playing. Recently, dba instituted a $1 charge per credit... More

Arrived fairly late on a busy Saturday night when Frenchmen Street was packed with people in town for Memorial Day. It was about 11:00 when we got there, paid the $10 per head cover, and entered the packed place. The lady at the front door was unexpectedly nice, ready with a smile and a kind word. The music of the... More
