We were lucky enough to find this great place based a local’s recommendation. Frenchmen Street is where locals go to listen to music and the place was filled with locals. The atmosphere was friendly and the band that was playing was great. Some people were dancing, others talking and drinking and others just relaxing. Overall a good place to check... More

We (my mom, my husband & self) stopped by dba on two different nights (Friday and Sunday) to listen to the swing bands. Both nights we arrived between 6:15 & 7 and there was no cover (bouncer said we just had to buy drinks). We had several varieties of beer (both draft and bottle) and we were very impressed by... Not fancy but I've been here on numerous occasions and have always enjoyed the live jazz. You will appreciate the food and drink prices here compared to Bourbon St. the stage is huge, and everybody can see and hear the entertainment. Bathrooms could use a little help, but take the bad with the good. No cover early, modest cover late.

Low price cover, great bands, huge drinks menu, efficient bar servers for reasonably priced menus, but above all great music. First set at 10PM crowded. If you can plan on the second set roughly 12:30AM. You'll have the band and the place to yourself which greatly enhances the listening and dancing experience. If you don't like the place, Frenchmen Street... More

d.b.a. was a great music club, opening early enough to enjoy a set by one group before going to eat and returning to another set by different musicians. Good dancing space, and a separate bar area for those not so interested in the music.

This is a great place to see a band. Lots of beers on tap, lots of fun people. I had a tremendous time there watching Skinny Tuba, which was the first act. After nine, it got a little crowded. One of a number of really great places in Faubourg Marigny.

d.b.a is a go to place for hanging out with friends. There are a lot of beer and drink options. The live music is always really great as well. Sometimes there's a cover ($5 or $10) but the bands we saw are always worth it. We love to hang out in the window booths, but they go quickly. There could... More

With all the clubs offering live jazz music on Frenchman, one would think the staff here would be a little more consumer-friendly. The first bartender (Thing 1) never even acknowledged that someone was standing there waiting to order. She just walked away. It only went downhill from there. The second one at least acknowledged us and took our drink order,... More

Glen David Andrew, do you know him? We did not prior to coming to d.b.a. on a Monday night. If you don't know him get to know him he is amazing.
