This was my 3rd visit to dba, and found that the musicians on the 2 nights after Mardi Gras were mildly interesting. With so many options on Frenchmen Street, it was disappointing that they were charging a $5 cover one night and had acts that seemed lower in quality than the rest we visited along Frenchmen. The vast selection of... More

We came here to see the Treme brassband in their main venue. The band was great and had a visible good time. Not that busy when we came in, but you saw the room fill up slowly. Place has less character than say the Spotted Cat across the street as it has a more modern look. It's a good thing... More

Saw a great band at d.b.a. on Mardi Gras. The crowd was enthusiastic and well behaved considering the amount of booze being consumed everywhere that day. The bartenders are wonderful and did a great job keeping up with orders. If you have not been this place is what I would call a dive with a VERY basic interior. With that... More

We visited d.b.a. while in NOLA last weekend. We loved it! Great bar, friendly bartenders, and fantastic music!!! No cover before 9, $10 after 9. We got there around 7 and enjoyed the free cover to see an awesome group before wandering off to enjoy the rest of Frenchman Street. The next time we are in NOLA, we will be... More

One of my favorite bars in New Orleans, d.b.a. is a little more of a local scene with a fantastic and varied drink selection and usually one or two great music acts to enjoy. Laid back fun

We had such a blast at d.b.a. It was recommended to us by our tour guide from Confederacy of Cruisers biking tours (totally recommend checking my review out of them too). We couldn't have been happier with our choice to stop by. There was a Dixieland style Jazz band playing, and a group of swing dancers that would move to... More

My husband and I went here over the NYE week and had a blast. We were looking to listen to authentic blues/jazz music and wanted to get away from the crowds on Bourbon Street. We went here and it was everything we were looking for! It was laid back and they had some great music playing that night. The drink... More

We were there on New Years and sat in one of the front window seat areas and watched people going by as we had some great brews! Unique and fun bar on Frenchman Street.

A cute place with nice craft beer and whisky choices, but the attitude on the waitress/bartender made it such an aweful experience I would never go back there again. The Avenue has a better choice if craft beer on tap and lovely down to earth bartenders, why would I bother visiting D.B.A when you're served by such ar*eholes.

We were lucky enough to find this great place based a local’s recommendation. Frenchmen Street is where locals go to listen to music and the place was filled with locals. The atmosphere was friendly and the band that was playing was great. Some people were dancing, others talking and drinking and others just relaxing. Overall a good place to check... More
