This is where all the locals told us to go to see some of the best music in the French Quarter. They were not wrong, it was fantastic. The bar staff were a little "too cool for school" and not as friendly as some of the other venues in the area.

We wandered into dba early one evening and were initially attracted by their excellent slate of beers. Try Canebreak for something local and good. Found out that Walter 'Wolfman' Washington and his band were playing later for a $5 cover. We went off to eat and returned to see The Wolfman in full flow. An excellent night!

If you want to get a feel of the NOLA jazz scene, this is the bar to do it in. We went twice. Once with John Boutte and the second time with the Treme Brass Band. Entrance was $5-10 each. It was a little squashed with very limited seating but enjoyable all the same. They serve beer from all over... More

We headed to DBA as we wanted to see The Treme Brass band who play on Tuesday's. I loved loved loved the venue and the TBB did not disappoint. Indeed they were perfect. The venue itself is great, a huge selection of drinks - and good measures! A great venue, probably my favourite in Frenchman Street

I heard some of the best live Blues music I've ever heard here - 10pm on a Thursday night. The $5 cover charge is the best bargain I found in a long time.

For a $5 cover charge, there was a great 9 piece jazz band. And they just kept playing and playing. Because of the live band, it was crowded and hard to order drinks unless you were at the bar, but I think that's to be expected. Get a live music guide when you get to NOLA, look over the bands/dates/times/location... More

Went here a few years ago. If I recall correctly we saw one of Washboard Chaz's many bands play. Great music. The bar itself is nice enough inside, old school but not dated and a classier version of a dive bar. The bartenders did seem a bit aloof and disinterested but they weren't rude. They have a good beer list... More

We went to d.b.a after The Spotted Cat and I preferred the latter, my husband the former. The cover was $5.00 to hear Treme, and the music was toe-tapping good - the vibe in this place was young, and it is great to see the interest in NOLA music by people of all ages. There is a great beer selection,... More

Saw the Treme Brass Band was playing for a modest $5 cover. Crowd was a bit light at the start of the show but filled up rather quickly with a youngish enthusiastic crowd. Band and crowd were feeding off of each other resulting in a rousing set of rocking muisic. Was able to order Rose' by the glass and the... More

This is not a very nice walk from Jackson Square. Although it is right down Decatur street, you go through some rough spots. When we got to the bar, the jazz band was playing and the bouncer was nice. We sat down to browse their expansive beer list and to listen to the music. The place was dead. We came... More
