Caught the Treme Brass Band here a few nights ago. Excellent music venue. The bartenders act as if they are doing you a favor by serving you, however. I overheard one of them tell a patron she didn't pay her enough because she didn't tip. It left me feeling sorry for the patron but as a former bartender I know... More

We absolutely loved this bar! The music was wonderful. There were several couples that knew how to dance or swing music and that was too much fun to watch! The bar is beautiful! The drink are strong and reasonable. We got there before 9pm and did not have to pay cover charge. They have several bands! The cover is $10... More

I've seen many a great show here. But you have to be able to stand and stay up late. They don't really adhere to the starting times and many shows start after 11pm. I do love this place.

Aside from serving up some of the best beer in town (including the Tramp Stamp | Clown Shoes IPA from Ipswich, MA) d.b.a. has an incredible line up of great local bands playing on stage here (my favorites are Treme Brass Band on Tuesday nights and Hot Club of New Orleans). When on the road, I try not to repeat... More

A friend told be to go to this place to see an old-time blues guitar placer named Little Freddie King, who was great. Only a $10 cover. Small venue which is great when you want to get up close. There were a lot of other clubs playing Blues, Rock, etc. on the street. Unsure if they serve food. Drinks are... More

This is a really nice music venue that, because it typically charges a cover charge, gets great acts and has a higher caliber of bar service. The location is perfect.

I wandered into d.b.a. on a Sunday evening and had a very enjoyable time. The beer selection was outstanding, unlike most bars these days that feature lite beers and IPAs. Give me a German lager or a stout any day. The entertainment, the Palmetto Bug Stompers, were great musicians. Their take on jazz, blues, dixieland, and ragtime was super. The... More

Looking for the local music scene, we were told to go to Frenchmen Street. We stumbled upon DBA, and Deacon John and the Ivories were the headliners. People standing near us told stories of their personal connection with Deacon John. This man is an icon in New Orleans. This was one of the R&B performances I have ever experienced. Deacon... More

Was having a great time before going into this place. I'm sure the entertainment is great, but the bar waitress was the most unprofessional I had seen in all my travel. This waitress was running more people away than making money for her establishment. I do have to say they gave me my cover back even though I did not... More

We got in here before they started charging a cover and had an awesome night! Great music all night, awesome beer selection, good (so my wife tells me) cocktails and a cool atmosphere. I especially enjoyed the sign stating that they do not have Bud, Miller, or Coors however they will provide you with Abita Light if you need it.
