Odd thing is that there were no permanent restroom facilities, only portable ones. A bit rundown and unkempt in some areas. More

City park is an amazin gplace to unwind and take some long walks. It is a nice change of pace from the French Quarter and the scenery to and from is awesome. Cable car ride or drive is very pleasnt. they have a great botanical garden and a sculpture garden. Next trip i plan to see the Art museum. More

This park is huge, with a great path and lake to walk the dog around. Sculptures and lots to see along the way. More

If you are looking for a place to spend a leisurely afternoon in New Orleans look no further than City Park. This huge park has many attractions and is absolutely beautiful. There is Storybook land and a mini train for kids, paddle boats, and the art museum. My favorite thing is the sculpture garden located behind the art museum. It... More

Apart from the tourist churn elsewhere, a magnificent sculpture garden amid two-hundred year old live oaks. Many of the great sculptors of the 20th century. Didn't expect this from a town with limited purview. Maybe the limit is within my purview. Museum was closed. More

I was not surprised to learn the same person who designed Central Park in NYC also planned City Park in New Orleans. The temperature outside could be 95 and it is cool under the Oaks. The Botanical garden is lovely, the Museum beautiful. Childrens rides are super. I really just adore walking along the bayou. More

What a great place to spend an afternoon, far from crowds. We picked up sandwiches in the FQ and rode the street car to the park. The ride there was leisurely with a great view of the city. Park is peaceful. We walked through the sculpture garden and the amusement park looked good but there wasn't time. For us, the... More
