Beware the excessive door policy! Ten days in NOLA with Soul Rebels high on our carefully prepared list of great music to listen to. Arrived 10.45 and was refused entry by the octogenarian on the door because I didn't have ID. Sure even he could see that I was far closer to his age than 21 but he couldn't be... More

We went to this widely recommended establishment on a Saturday night hoping to hear some live music. First of all we were travelling by street car, and we had to walk down Napoleon street which was not well lit, and hard to walk down. When we arrived at Le Bon Temps, we were told that we needed picture ID to... More

I decided to take the Saint Charles streetcar to Napoleon Avenue and walk to Magazine street. It was a very humid sultry evening and a very pleasant walk. I mention this because it felt very safe and if you are on a budget its the cheapest way to get to the bar if you are staying close to Canal Street.... More

They boast they are famous for their bloody mary's.... Well, they are, world famous. And if you do not fancy the drink, just go for the interior of the bar, as vintage and evergreen timeless as it gets. Atmosphere in abundance.

Came here with a local on a Sunday night during a recent vacation, and had my best experience of the trip. As Racheval3 noted, it seemed a little seedy at first--and given that I was an Asianish looking dude dressed in a sweater and tie, I was the picture of "sticking out like a sore thumb"--but after a few drinks,... Our first day in NOLA we took the St. Charles Streetcar to Audobon Park and walked down Magazine Street. At first, it seemed a little seedy, but after a drink or two, we were getting along just great with the locals. Everyone was so nice and insistent on recommending the best places to go for seafood/creole/etc, without the tourists. Apparently... More

I used to live around the corner from this great neighborhood pub and I spent every moment I could there! It is a very welcoming place and the food is second to none. The burgers are locally famous for a good reason. The steak fries are literally to die for; with chili and cheese or ketchup. The selection of beer... More
