Went here for jazzfest. Had a great time. I suggest bus from downtown. No need to find parking or fight traffic on the way out.

Visited the track on a non live race day and it did look nice but the simulcast room was not all that attractive. There seemed to be a *huge* shortage of deodorant for people hanging out in there. Bet on one race and left. As mentioned already, the live track did look nice and I would like to go back... More

Spring afternoon at the races is the best. Horse racing itself could improve, but they are still exciting. Great place to spend an afternoon with friends.

I love horse racing. I grew up in Saratoga Springs, NY. It was great to see another track that started around the same time. The track was quite nice. I did not like how the grandstand was enclosed, but spent most of my time on the apron. The food choices were not great. But overall it was a great day... More

Plenty to do if you're looking for entertainment other than jazz etc of the French Quarter. From slots to betting on horses, there's lots of excitement. Food is good also. Try the night races for a new twist at the race track.

Wonderful race course during racing season, but then, the home of the best fest in the land ... New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival! Stages and food inside the track, craft booths and more music outside the track! A must visit the last weekend in April and the first weekend in May!

The race track was very nice. If you are a tourist you should definately catch a cab. The neighborhood surrounding the track is not the best. Trying to get a cab back to our place was a nightmare. We used the designated cab phone at the track. Called all 4 cab companies. Put on hold or told to call back... More

Our group consisted of those who wished to gamble and those who just wanted to see the horses run. There were kids ranging from 8-12 in our group and they had a blast. The admission (free most days for the grandstand) is very family friendly. Corned beef poor boys and red beans w/ rice were very much up to New... More

A great venue for watching horse races, gambling, eating. The course has been upgraded over the years and is a very neat place to visit.
