New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what...

New Orleans is so more than the French Quarter and we want to show you what most visitors don't get to experience. The heart of our city is seen through its many other historic neighborhoods, such as the beautiful Faubourg Marigny; and there is no better way to explore them than with New Orleans' original bicycle tour company. Join us as we take you for a bike ride around the old Creole neighborhoods and tell you the stories of the New Orleans that most tourists miss. The ride is relaxed, with plenty of time to ask questions, and a stop along the way at a neighborhood bar where you can find out all you want about local life while drinking a delicious Bloody Mary, if you like. For those who want to delve a little deeper, we offer a tasty Neighborhood Culinary Tour and a Historic Drinking Tour (where you get to indulge as you learn), all travelling through our streets like the locals do, on easy to ride classic cruiser bicycles.

Highly recommended! The Creole tour is a fun way to dig into the history of New Orleans' music, culture, architecture, and so much more. The comments about Nick below are spot-on: he bring you into the neighborhoods, he brings the neighborhoods to you as he seems to know EVERYONE in the neighborhoods, and his friends become part of the experience... An easy and fun 3 hour tour of the 9th Ward, by way of the Bywater. Nick, our tour guide was really knowledgeable, fun, and most importantly, good looking. He new some really great places to see, eat, and had recommendations for the rest of our trip. It was great to learn about and see New Orleans from a less... More

An easy 3 hour bike tour with guide Nick - history-music -culture outside of the main tourist areas. it introduced us to new neighborhoods and gave us a wonderful introduction to New Orleans history. The route is flat and doesn't require any athletic ability - other than to know how to ride a bike. This company has my highest recommendation-... More

My friend and I highly recommend this tour. Lots of stops, nice bikes for all levels, comfortable bike seat!!! Our Guide was very knowledgeable, entertaining and open to all kinds of questions and discussions regarding the history of New Orleans. We took the Creole tour, it opens your eyes, gets you out of the French Quarter and see where people... More

We went to places I would have never explored on my own. It was a great tour. Easy to ride bikes and Nick was a great guide. I already can not wait to get back to NOLA.

My nineteen year old daughter and I took the bike tour based on a tip we got at a Rebirth concert at the Maple Leaf. We got Nick as the guide, who is a combination of Louis CK, ethnomusicologist, gourmand, anthropologist, historian and political commentator. He seemed to know everyone along the route, and everyone on the tour by name... More

Incredible, must do trip! Nick Fox (and I'm sure all of the other guides) has an absolute filthy amount of knowledge about New Orleans, Music, Religion, Culture, Sex and I'm sure whatever else you ask about. The tour was informative, hilarious, well thought out and better executed. I am an avid biker and was skeptical about a guided tour cause... More

We took the culinary bike tour and am glad we did. Our guide was Victor and he was informative, helpful, and chose some fantastic foods for us to sample. We tried foods we would have never chose and loved them. Victor also gave us some post restaurant recommendations for other items we wanted to try and as my daughter said... More

Wonderful way to learn about the history of New Orleans. We took the Creole tour, which had a focus on musical history - the birth of jazz and rock and roll, Louis Armstrong, Mahalia Jackson and Fats Domino. Fascinating stuff. Our tour guide was Nick, who knows a stunning amount about the city for a guy who's only been here... More

Staying in Faubourg Marigny & Bywater

Neighborhood Profile
Faubourg Marigny & Bywater
Nestled between the French Quarter and the Ninth Ward, the Faubourg Marigny & Bywater environs are largely residential. Of course, folks around here love to go out and have a good time as much as they do anywhere in NOLA. And if out-of-towners want to join in the festivities, well then so much the better! Home to some of the most revered live music venues in New Orleans, an eclectic gaggle of gourmand dining destinations, and a come-as-you-are vibe that’s as infectious as it is alluring, this is real deal New Orleans oozing with southern hospitality and the promise of a most epic night out. For endless opportunities to boogie, to admire row upon row of lovingly restored homes, and to escape the fray of the more touristic parts of town (but still live it up in grand style) head to Faubourg Marigny & Bywater.
