Beautiful Cathedral

If you are planning on attending Mass or just want to see a major piece of history, visit St. Louis Cathedral. The new pipe organ is worth the visit if nothing else.

It look like a Castle from outside and at nigh a big shadow figure that resemble of Jesus open his arms to you to join the church. I was amaze when Sunday Morning saw the inside of that church, the art and architecture is amassing.

While in the French Quarter, make sure to at least poke your head in. This cathedral is awe inspiring. If you are lucky, you will see a wedding! If you are on Royal Street behind the cathedral at night, check out the lighted shadow of Jesus. Amazing!

My wife and I attended a Sunday mass at St. Louis Cathedral while we were in NOLA celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. This church is in the french quarter and built in 1714, a landmark in history. The architecture is awesome. The mass was solemn and the people in the church were wonderful. The archbishop conducted the mass.

Great Cathedral (you see it in postcards of Jackson Square...with peaceful, interesting interior and a statue to a woman 'approaching the process of sainthood' she's been beatified by Vatican. A local Creole this is amazing.

If you are going to hang around Jackson Square and take photos of the cathedral facade, do yourself a favor and pop in for a visit. There is some beautiful artwork - but not too much like in some other cathedrals - it's a very calming place. Guided tours are available or you can purchase a guidebook for $1. There... More
