After doing some research on the various plantation tours and companies available, we decided to book through Tours by Isabelle based on the great reviews, and I am so glad we did! We did the early Laura/Oak Alley Tour, and they were so fascinating! Two very different-type properties, but that's actually what made it all the more interesting. I would... More

This tour was a blast. A small group tour, we left New Orleans and started with the airboat ride through the swamps. Unfortunately it was too cool for the alligators but the ride was exhilarating. From there we were off to tour the plantations of Oak Alley and Laura. Beautiful homes yet such different cultures. A sad but very interesting... More

At the outset, I must confess that I don't often take guided bus tours. Our time with Tours by Isabelle reminded me why. On the plus side, we did not have to rent a car, and we were in and out of the city without any hassle. The biggest advantage was that we jumped the queue at Oak Alley, which... More

Three weeks before our recent NOLA trip, I tried to book both a city and swamp tour with Tours by Isabelle. I was first told that they really didn't do just the swamp tours during January. They combine them with the plantation tour. Then why do you advertise them as a separate tour?? I was then told I would be... More

We had a very nice driver that gave us a lot of history. Loved the swamp tour - the airboat is a must. Ask for Gary. He us hilarious and so much fun. Definitely out on bug spray. Swamp was my favorite tour. Got to hold a baby gator he caught for us! Both plantations are interesting. Oak Alley is... More

I booked the half day plantation and airboat tour, as well as the city and estate tour. Both are excellent with very knowledgeable guides. The Destrehan plantation is gorgeous with their own guides who toured the house with our group, and we had some free time to roam the grounds. The airboat is a must! The swamp is beautiful, and... my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this tour. we were on a 13 passenger bus but there only ended up being 5 of us. Joseph, our driver and guide was very kind and even though may have repeated himself a bit was most interesting. He was available for questions and most knowledgeable. we went to Oak Alley and Laura Plantations.... More

We had a fabulous time on our one-day tour visiting the Bayou and then Plantations. GINNIE was an OUTSTANDING tour guide. She had such a great depth of knowledge about the history and culture, and an outstanding way of presenting it. The tour guides on the boat trip through the Bayou and at the Laura Plantation were phenomenal, too. Thanks... More

Did the plantation and airboat tour. Madeline did the tour and left nothing out as far as history of New Orleans and area, she had documents and pictures of the stories she was telling us as we made our way to the different tour sites. Each of the sites had well informed hosts that explained in detail of the historic values...
