My mother wanted to see the city and some of the Katrina disaster. I'm happy I found this tour service. Dixie had the best service and tour ddetail. Mike thank you for your good sense of humor and a overall great tour.

Took the 3 hour tour with Gene in a very comfortable van. He was very informative and knowledgable about the city and it's history. Saw the good and the bad - French quarter, the Garden district, neighborhoods and devastation from Katrina still not fixed. Thought it was a great intro to the city.

We almost booked another tour rated higher than Dixie Tours but they didn't reply to my inquiry until the day of our trip. I am so glad too. Dixie Tours was half the price and a tremendous value. Our tour guide was John and he seemed to know everything about the city. I had an expectation of what a tour... More

The main reason I choose this tour was that they offered free pickup from our hotel, but I really ended up lucking out in receiving an excellent tour. Gene the tour guide is a lifetime resident of New Orleans with an encyclopedic knowledge of the city. He mixed his facts and history with personal stories and remembrances; he talked the... More

I had seen a lot of jive-looking city tours advertised both before and during our stay in New Orleans. But it was a rainy day and we were desperate for an activity. We had told the concierge at our hotel that we wanted a tour that focused on the rebuilding after Katrina, so when we saw the brochure for Dixie... More

If you're looking for a comprehensive tour of the city, this fits the bill. Unlike more specailized tours, this 3-hour van tour hits all the highlights - the French Quarter, Garden District, the 9th Ward damaged by Hurrican Katrina, and an historic cemetery. If you want a little bit of everything, this is a good tour; if you want a... More
