I've lived near NYC and San Francisco with great orchestras an hour away (+ traffic and $$$$$ parking). In Madison we now LOVE the MSO! Only 7 miles away, no traffic, our Madison orchestra rivals the "greats" in sound, in conductor John DeMain, in program variety and "class," and "bests" them in venue (so say the coasts' guest artists). What's... More

There is nothing that can be disliked at this place. If you pick the show that you want, you will find it at it's best.

I had the great pleasure of attending the Broadway Play "Once" at the Overture Center for the Arts while in Madison for a conference. This is an outstanding and beautiful facility that Madison is justifiably very proud to have. If you are planning a trip to Madison in the future, take the time to check the Overture's performance schedule and... More

We were visiting our daughter and hoped to attend a performance at the Overture Center. We were delighted to attend the 10th anniversary special performance. This was a mix of dance, classical music, children's theater, rock music, poetry and opera. A fabulous evening and we saw the highlights of Madison's performing arts. The acoustics were wonderful and the center resembled... More

The Overture Center provides a quality venue for touring shows as well as providing smaller performance spaces for locally produces theater. The quality of the main performance space, Overture Hall, is the equal of theaters in New York and the touring companies selected by the Overture Center management give us the opportunity to see shows locally instead of travelling to... We like the fact that there is such a great place for the arts in Madison. We don't like that it is sometimes hard to get around.

Saw Steely Dan here, very comfortable seats. Just be prepared to buy a travel mug if you want to drink in the concert area. They don't allow open containers. Very clean and great show!

We went with relatives who have seen many shows here. It was a very nice building with a neat kids theater area downstairs which was open and our kids got to play a while behind the curtain. Fun.

We sat front row for Steely Dan last weekend and were a little worried of it being too loud. What a pleasant surprise. Great sound and a beautiful place to see a show! Afterward we chatted with the stage hands and they commented on what a beautiful facility and that this was one of the best venues they had ever... More

We were in the upper balcony for Steely Dan and the sound was amazing. There was an annoying light behind the drummer but otherwise the show was great. Beautiful venue. I would definitely return.
