This is a great park to come and view the sunset. There is a beach, which is nice for kids. The pier is cool to view the lake from and the ice skating area in the winter seems to be very popular as it is usually packed. Very safe, kid friendly park.

This is one of Madison's best neighborhood parks, on the East Side of town. Diverse and eclectic park-goers, young and old, enjoying the water (Yahara River), greenery, playground, bridge and other features. Lovely place to hand out or take a walk.

Tenney gives one and up close and personal view of L. Mendota. This is best park in Madison b/c it contains a breakwater with that juts out into L. Menota. The breakwater contains many benches to relax and view the Lake. Across the street is more of Tenney Park which contains a paved walkway, playground and basketball courts. The best... More

We drive by here every time we go to the East side, but never knew this little gem had such a great place open to the public! We stopped on a whim, and we are so happy we did. There is a nice small park for children, swimming area, walking trails, and a lovely pier. Just in the short time... More

Our next-door park. Brand new walking/biking paths, with a playground and wide fields. We see a wonderful cross-section of Madisonians whenever we go through: people fishing, biking, playing tennis, hanging out with kids, playing soccer, and even (once) snorkelers in the lake by the pier.

What a cute park. It seems like a small park but once you are on the trails it is a nice walk. Cute bridges. We brought bread to feed the ducks on the river. You can cross the street and walk to the lake if you want or ride on the trail that goes over there. Quite a few people... More

A friend took us rock balancing here-there are often wonderful sculptures about that seem to defy the laws of physics. Also, there are many lovely trees to climb and interesting rocks and a lovely view of the lake. I like.

I would highly recommend Tenney Park for the ice skating and their cozy warming house in the winter time. They also have skate rentals. In the summer time its a good location to go and see the fireworks.

If you are visiting Madison in the summer this park is pretty and the locks are something to see. If you are visiting in the winter it is a great place to ice skate and there are hockey boards up in part of it. Beautiful park new shelter!

We used to live not too far from Tenney Park and loved to be outdoors there especially when boats are out or the ponds are frozen.
