One of Frank Lloyd public buildings which is very popular for weddings and its location on the lake and proximity to the state capital. I took a few incredible pictures inside of the building. This is one of his later designs, so has some design elements which have a lunar or space race type design cues. If you like design,... More

The only thing Wright about this building is the exterior, which is definitely impressive and the very best view of that is from the lake. Rent a kayak or paddleboard if you can..or drive north into town on John Nolan Drive for a fantastic view. The interior has been turned into a fairly common, bland convention center. There is a... I cannot understand how anyone could say this is a disappointing building. It is a most beautiful structure and just a delight to walk through. To imagine this building was designed by Frank Lloyd Wright over 70 years ago but completed in 1997 is a story in itself. The building looks as though it could have been designed today. The... More

While purporting to be a design by Frank Lloyd Wright, it is a very dissapointing building. Other than the location and the view it is not worth a visit.

This place is amazing. Their outdoor terrace on the top is the best thing ever! We got food at various food carts and walked here to have lunch and just soak in the wonderful view. I highly recommend this as a place to just casually have lunch and just relax.

All Madison visitors should stop here. I highly recommend visiting at 1:00 for a guided tour. The architecture is fascinating and there are fascinating exhibits about Frank Lloyd Wright. In addition, there are wonderful views of the city from the rooftop, along with a rooftop cafe. Often, there are events on the roof.

Across from the State Capital, along the Monona Lake Shore. Great views of the lake and city, with gardens and a great little outdoor café. We ate here and thoroughly enjoyed the meal. I had a great burger and even greater "portabella fries". Very reasonably priced and fun to sit under the umbrella, outdoors on a beautiful day.

We hosted our wedding here and it was a great venue. There are a few quirks with such a large place, but overall, we had a good experience at a good price. As a visitor, the gift shop has some nice local treasures. On the east side of the Terrace there is a great outdoor cafe where you can have... More

When we visited Monona Terrace, it was filled with well dresses men and women wearing their best gowns, either for a weddings in process, or for Proms. This gave a festive air to the terraces that face the lake. It's nice to think that architect Frank Lloyd Wright's vision for the site was finally achieved, albeit years after his death.

This is a great place to convention at. The view is stunning. It has ample parking. The food was delicious. The venue was extremely clean. The downtown is a hop skip and a jump away.
