We came to Madison to do some skiing and skating. The skiing at Elver Park is definitely geared toward the skating style of skiing. Unfortunately, we were doing traditional cross country skiing. The trails were in very poor condition. A total waste of $14.00. Very dissappointing.

I grew up on the Southwest side of Madison so I watched Elver Park take shape starting in the late 1970s and have spent a lot of time there over the years. When I return to Madison for a family visit, I almost always include a trip to the park for one reason or another . . . sledding, hiking,... More

It's a nice park. My kids favorite park to sled in the winter, it gets really crowded during that season. It's beautiful to just walk thru on a summer day. It has a huge disc golf area that my son loves. As far as playground equipment goes not much to rave there and there are questionable kids at best always... More

I rented skis here for $9 and spent a few hours on the trails. I had a great time. The other skiers were of all ages and skill levels. I am a beginner and stayed on the easier trails. There is also a sledding hill and a skating rink. I will go again. If not for the skiing, then for... More

Fabulous hill that allows some major speed! Not for the faint of heart, the broken sled pike near the bottom tells the tale. Also at the park is skating, hockey and cross county skiing. Very reasonable rental rates for all equipment except for sleds, you must bring your own. Bring cash, credit cards not accepted. 5 kids in our group... More

This is a terrific park! There is fun to be had here in all seasons. There's ample room for picnics and large group barbeques. There's a basketball court here that never gets crowded. There's also very clean on site bathroom facilities maintained well by the city. They're well lit and safe. One of my favorite things about this park is... More

Trained my soccer team on the big hill here for about 5 years. Sledding and skating in the Winter, tennis, soccer, softball and a great Frisbee Golf course too. Easy to get to with plenty of parking and some awesome fireworks on July 4th and stop accross the street for some Chester-fried chicken

once you leave the ball field & pavilion the park is really almost empty in a short walk you can be at the pine forest - although really magical in the winter to cross country ski thru, nice in summer too before mosquitoes arrive

This park has a lot to offer and is a lot of fun. The frisbee golf course is great, the fireworks can compete with Warner Parks, and the sledding hill makes it great to go all year!

Great place to get some skiing in after work! There are flat trails as well as a coupke steeper climbers. Toilet facilities in the warming hut near the sledding hill and a port a potty at xc ski base. Trail passes are inexpensive and require mo advance planning as there is a post for payment on trail. Tuesday nights are... More
