Owner description: Madison Food Explorers has joined with Madison Eats to offer you more tours. Our tours offer an opportunity to learn about Madison's history and culture via a walking food tour. Our Lake to Lake Tour features top Madison attractions, like the Monona Terrace, the State Capital and food that is uniquely Wisconsin - artisan cheeses, brats, locally-brewed beer, and ice cream. Enough food is served that lunch afterward is not needed. Tours start at 12:30pm, rain or shine, Mon-Sat. Monroe Street Tour: Some call it the perfect neighborhood. The mix of academics, professionals and students generate a lively, thriving, artistic atmosphere. We will explore the wide range of local food delights as we tour past art galleries, wine shops, designer clothes shops and eclectic specialty stores. This tour operates on Sunday starting at 12:30pm.

We are Madison area residents, and had received a gift certificate for Madison Food Explorers. On a cool crisp fall Saturday we took the Downtown Food Tour that goes Lake to Lake. It was just awesome! Andrea was a wonderful guide, the pace was perfect, the food stops were fantastic, and we could not have enjoyed ourselves more! We would... More

I've done a few food tours of my hometown, Columbus, Oh. It's a great way to get a more intimate look at places you know, but to explore restaurants or food venues that you might otherwise overlook. I've never spent any time in Madison, Wi. and this was the city of choice for my sisters' trip this fall. The tour... More

Nice stroll and sampling of the city. Educational component was a great, unexpected addition. Beautiful scenery at the lake on campus.

Great way to spend a few hours getting to know the city and find place you would never go or find otherwise. Time goes by fast (took wife and teenage kids). Tour guide was knowledgeable and friendly. I would seek out another explorer tour based on this one.

My husband and I have lived in Madison for many years. We took the lake to lake tour with Andrea as our guide. She is very knowledgable and funny!! We had great food at Merchants, Fromagination, Ian's mac & cheese pizza (it was great!). Enjoyed an Indian beverage at Chautara. Always a fun day on State Street when there's a... More

I was just in Madison for a conference, and whenever I go to a new place I always struggle deciding where to eat. Especially when a city is known for good food, like Madison is, it can be hard to prioritize. Also, traveling by myself, I usually shy away from sit-down restaurants. This tour was a perfect way for me... More

We've visited Madison before but never took this tour. Now I'm sorry we didn't schedule both tours. The Monroe St. food tour was informative and the food was interesting and delicious. Our guide, Kyle, was great! He was a great speaker, very knowledgeable about the history of the area and a fun guide. I would highly recommend this tour. The... More
