There was something for everyone in our group of six from age 3 to age 66. The exhibits were well kept and properly maintained. The staff was courteous and well informed. The variety of the exhibits was just amazing.

Getting to this garden was a challenge since the roads around it were under construction. we had to travel a rather roundabout route to get here. We met a volunteer in the garden who was very informative and he gave us ideas of other gardens to visit, both in Madison and in Janesville, Wisconsin. We took the time to follow... More

Olbrich is beautiful. They have made fantastic use of a somewhat limited space. Also, plants are well identified. During our visit, a special butterfly event was going on. We didn't visit this event, so we practically had the gardens to ourselves.

The gardens have a Thai Pavillion. It is the only such pavillion in the US outside of Hawaii and a must see. There are numerous beautiful gardens. I recommend visiting on Sunday at 1:30 for the guided tour. There is also a greenhouse with a butterfly exhibit.

Even if plants aren't your passion, Olbrich Botanical Garden is well worth the visit. The site features a tropical rain forest pavilion, rose garden, paths with a wide variety of flowers and herbs, and the stunning Thai pavilion donated by the country of Thailand because of the large number of Thai citizens who are UW-Madison grads. There are a variety... More

So nice to have a place like this here to enjoy. All year round, inviting, peaceful. A must see in our great city of Madison.

Beautiful setting, great team, we got to tour the gardens and the butterfly atrium also. Highly recommend if you don't mind hearing some kids exploring outside the room.

Since this was a "last minute" visit, we had not allowed enough time to enjoy everything these gardens have to offer. An hour is not enough, unless you only wish to visit a small area, or find a quiet spot to sit and meditate. Also, be sure to pick up a map, to find your way around. People who have... More

Although a little off the beaten path, Olbrich Botanical Garden is well worth the visit. Whether you visit the tropical rain forest pavilion, wander the rose garden, or explore the wide variety of flowers and herbs, this is a wonderful place to spend a couple hours. The highlight of the Gardens is the Thai pavilion--the only one donated by the... More

To say this is a free attraction (though donations are appreciated) this garden is beautiful and well maintained. You can spend many hours walking through here or you can spend a food hour here and still see everything. The observatory which only has a $2 per adult fee was also worth a look. It is definitely worth a visit here!... More
