The gardens are spectacular year round. There are little niches and benches to sit in, fountains for the kids, and a HUGE variety of plants, flowers and trees. The Thai garden and pavilion are a must-see!

It's easy to spend the entire day and go back again another day. A great place to just walk, take the grandkids, have a picnic, attend a concert. Concert schedule is listed on their website: www.olbrich.org if it rains, the concert is held indoors. People bring their picnics, including beverage of choice. Fee is minimal - around $3.00.

The tropical dome -- warm and humid -- is a terrific antidote to months of super dry Madison winter weather. Lots of great tropical foliage, birds, running water. A fun place for kids to run around in too.

I am blessed to visit here during my business trip, on my way to the MSN airport. It is in early Dec, the occasional higher temperature gives a mist weather everywhere. It gives an outstanding view in the garden. The iced peddles and streams give a great reflection scenery, and the mist adds extra charm to it. The greenhouse is... More

The day we visited the gardens, the weather was less than ideal. It was cloudy and a bit dreary, but we still really enjoyed our visit. The gardens and beautifully maintained; plants well marked, and we really enjoyed our time. If we were back in Madison, I would definitely visit here again. Plan on a couple of hours at least,... The inside area was pleasant and enjoyable. Wish it were larger as it didn't take long to see the entire place. The staff were friendly.

The gardens in winter time are very fascinating, the froozen river and the thin snow coat make this place a peaceful and restful place to spend some of your time. The Conservancy is also very interesting with a lot of trees and plants from Australia, Southern America and Asia but also flowers and bushes. There are also birds, like the... More
