I've been unexcited about the Colorado wines I've tried at various tastings until I experienced some of John's. They are exceptional!!! We were passing though Cortez and had to stop and visit "the farm" in McElmo Canyon. Absolutely beautiful. We toured the wine making operation with John, met the crew and of course did a tasting, took some wine with... More

And excellent wine to taste and/or purchase. Beautiful short drive from Cortez, CO. Winery has been long established in a gorgeous valley, under the shadow of Ute Mountain.

We made the trip due to the reviews. Was wonderful. We are from the finger lakes region in NY so am familiar with nice wineries. The views alone are worth the trip. As for the wine? We bought a case, two glasses and joined the wine club so they will be mailing some wine every few weeks. Nuff said

During our stay at the Dolores River RV Park we decided to do some side trips to explore this corner of S.W. Colorado. We chose to do one winery visit. To get to Sutcliffe Vineyards you drive west of Cortez, Colorado on Rd. G thru the beautiful McElmo Canyon. Arriving at the entrance I almost drove past the little dirt... More

Beautiful views. Spoke with the hostess, told us history of some of the wines, history of the local people, sites to see, restaurants to try in the four corners. She was a fountain of information. Best places to hike, off the beaten path. Hidden gems like the vineyard to try. She was utterly delightful. So sweet and nice, very knowledgeable... More

We came to visit Sutcliffe Vineyards after my husband tasted their wines at The Tinderbox restaurant in Flagstaff. He was impressed with the wine so we made sure to look them up when we were passing through Cortez on our way to Telluride, Colorado. We stay in Cortez on our way between California and Colorado on a regular basis and... More

Amazing wines - I stumbled upon on this Winery quite by accident. During a happy hour at a Brew-Pub in Durango I noticed Sutcliffe wines on tap and asked the bartender about them. He told me that there big sellers and that people love them. So I Goggled Sutcliffe and the next day I was out to Cortez. The tasting... More

Staff was friendly - we surprised the owner out of a late breakfast but he was more than happy to introduce himself and show us around. We were given exactly the kind of tasting that we wanted (it was before noon) and the staff led us through all of the buildings. Since we were the only ones there we had... More
