We ate, drank, watched other people collect winning tickets and long shot horses win. Sat in Section TD and had a lot of fun. Casino was too crowded after the race, so we did not stay. It was a great outing.

The winter for me is never complete until I've been to the track. I love to watch the horses, and I really love to watch the people. You will see all walks of life, from high rollers to people who ought not be there. If the weather is pretty, it's even more fun.

That pretty much sums it up. I was there on a Sunday and had no problem finding a slot machine to play. I bet a little on the ponies, and won a little at both! All in all, a good time!

Oaklawn is truly a legend in the horse racing world. The history of the building is unique. If you are a horse racing fan, this is a must visit location. But, be careful, live racing at Oaklawn is only Jan-Apr. Try to hit the new "Craft Beer" section in the smoking section. There is a great selection of local craft... More

We come every year to enjoy a weekend at the races. The track is very nice and there are several good eating venues.

We went for the weekend and tried our luck at the horses on Saturday. Much better value for the $ than casinos. Recommend reserving your (stadium like) seats well ahead of time. Casino, on the other hand was much too crowded and understaffed from the waitress side. 5 stars for racetrack, 3 stars for casino.

This is a great weekend getaway for some of the pretty weekends of late winter and early spring. Don't plan on getting rich, just have fun. I suggest you preorder tickets online or by phone to avoid lines. We always order a few extra so we have room to spread out. The food at the Oyster Bar is great as... More

We never miss the live racing season! We love everything about the track. Grilled Reuben in the Pony Express is awesome! Sooooooooo glad most all of it is nonsmoking.

IF you like gambling, this place is OK. Horse racing is in season now. Get a corned beef sandwich and a beer and watch the horses run. I like to get a seat and watch them run.

This was my first time to attend a race and did not know what to do. Every staff member I spoke with was very helpful and not one acted like it was a pain to do so.
