Original bath house entirely set up as display/museum where you can self-tour and see how the bath house was set up back in the early days. It is a terrific look back-in-time at all the areas, functions and floors of the facility.

Neither my wife or I knew much at all about Hot Springs before our recent visit. We booked a timeshare in the area as it was convenient to some family visits, and to northwest Louisiana where my mother was raised. We were pleased to find the Fordyce early on, and spent quite some time there touring the museum. It is... More

This bath house has been meticulously renovated and it is beautiful. We took a guided tour and found it very interesting (even tho our guide did go into too much detail sometimes).

Being a history buff, I found the self guided tour inside to be extremely fun and informative. The displays and the general access to the building was outstanding.

If you are in Hot Springs to see or use the bathhouses this stop is a must. It gives the appearance of a torture chamber but I am sure in its day this equipment was state of the art. The tiles and stained glass are beautiful. It is free of charge and self guided and doesn't take a lot of... More

piece of history! It was probably all the more interesting for us because we had just done the bath routine at the Buckstaff - that helped us to understand the Fordyce Bathhouse furnishings and equipment better - but it's also interesting to see the forerunners of today's exercis/weight machines, get a sense of the social aspects of the baths, etc.... We toured the bathhouse visitors center in Hot Springs. The attendants were to busy gossiping to each other to answer any questions. We went on all the floors and viewed one of the biggiest waste of money that I have seen in a while. There is a breif history about the bathhouse and a film. So it has some interest.... More

I can only imagine what life might have been like. The Fordyce gave me a taste of it. The luxurious baths, well appointed locker rooms, the parlor on the top floor and the rooftop garden hardens back to a time when wealth meant total relaxation! The museum is free and well worth the time.

This was the highlight of our trip to Hot Springs. For one, it's free. Also, it's historic, interesting without being overwhelming or long-winded.

It truly is like stepping back into 1920's & experiencing how the Rich & Famous experienced soaking in the medicinal hot springs in Hot Springs, AR. It's free & self-guided and shows off the splendor of the architecture of the time. Well worth the time & visit.
