Dissapointed Not what I remember as a child, Kind of run Down , Water dirty, I recommend Lake Quachita Instead.
We stayed in the yurt. Good experience especially since it poured and rained and poured and rained for a day. We were dry. It is a floored big tent with a deck all around. The sides are not solid but firm. There is a table with 4 chairs ,3 sets of bunk beds a ceiling fan. There are floor lamps... More
We go camping alot & love this state park. Never too crowded but make plans early because it fills up. We aren't the only ones who love it there. Most of the time it's cooler there than in town but when it too warm jump in the lake that you can't do in town. Great marked trails with waterfall to... More
We love Arkansas and for our daughters 7th Birthday we were looking for something adventurous to do. As we love to camp, we thought we would check out the Yurt! Boy were we in for a surprise. It was secluded down a long dock with a very private fire pit and picnic area. The yurt had a beautifully made king... More
Was very pretty and loved seeing the waterfall. However the map regarding the restricted areas was not as precise. We were so afraid of crossing the wrong path and getting shot by a hunter. During these seasons they need more specifics. Also a really loud industrial site was right on the pathway and was not the greatest addition to the... More
Worth the drive and short or long trail options along the lake and around the mountain to the waterfall. Easy to do with kids of all ages.
We stayed at the 4 duplex and what a great accomation in the woods. The weather wasn't very good so we did sit on our porch wrapped in blankets and watched the ducks and geese have a good time. Enjoyed just being in nature.
We went hiking on the trails that take you by the waterfalls. It was beautiful. I would consider it a moderately difficult trail. The campgrounds were nice, the cabins overlooked the lake and offered more privacy than the campground.
We tent camped here this fall and we loved it. The state park is beautiful as well as the hike to the falls. We camped along the lake in a large site with a view of the power plant. Waking up with the fog rolling over the lake was wonderful. Our site had a firepit, plenty of shade, was close... More
we decided to take the drive out to Lake Catherine State Park on a whim on a back road, the scenary was just beautiful. The state park is nice, though I wouldn't want to camp there (i'm not a camper anyways) but if I was, I wouldn't want to camp there with the view of the power plant or building... More
