We had a good time here walking some of the trails and seeing Lake Ouachita. It's a lovely area to walk or drive and there is free entrance to Arkansas State Parks.

Not as clean as I thought that it would be but an excellent lake all in the same. My kids enjoyed seeing the ducks and other wildlife the lake had to offer.

It is so incredibly quiet there it is hard to believe. My lovely wife and I went to Brady Mountain camp area and Blakely Mountain Dam and both were wonderful. We saw only 4 people (out of cars) all day. The water is so incredibly cold at the dam, it is like Arkansas' answer to Hover Dam. A lot of... More

Beautiful but camping is close quarters. Good hiking. Next time I want to bring or rent a kayak or canoe and camp on an island

We arrived at Lake Ouachita State Park at about 4:30 in the afternoon and set out on the 4-mile loop hike around the peninsula. The trail is not especially difficult and is marked at 1/2 mile intervals, so you know how far you've gone. The views of the lake from the trail are beautiful, particularly the one from the platform... More

The trail was challenging at points, but not as difficult as I expected. The scenic points of the trail are endless and makes the hike very enjoyable. Took us just under 3 hours to complete the trail including our stops to enjoy the view and take pictures.

However, skip the easy-to-find Caddo Bend trail since there is still a lot of tornado damage without shade. We heard the next peninsula north had great trails, but it's down a gravel road that gets muddy after rainy weather. Lake is gorgeous.

This park is beautiful and the sun set is wonderful in the camping part of the park. The lake is a spider arm lake and is just magnificent. No man made objects around lake as its army corp of eng. so no homes or other structures.

The lake is one of the cleanest lakes in the USA. My family and I camp on the islands on the lake. I also spear fish too. They have a June spearfishing tourney. There is a lot of professional fishing guides too. There is Crystal Springs and Brady mountain lodge that is excellent to stay at also.
