Great visit

This visit was very interesting but we had to travel a long way up the mountain to get to it. They gave us various teas to taste and sold a good variety.

If you are planning to visit Nuwera Eliya, you better plan for 4-5 days minimum as it has lot to offer for tourists. It has very good hotels where you can get your self settled. The living beating heart of Sri Lanka. You can never get bored of the view or the climate. IMPORTANT: DO NOT miss taking a train ride through the hills, you won't forgive your self.

With tea estates on both sides of the road, the road to Nuwara Eliya is where you can see the nature at its best. Nuwara Eliya is the main hill resort of Sri Lanka and the heart of the tea industry.Nuwara Eliya offers many activities for tourists including visits to tea plantations golfing, horse riding, boating, hiking and of course exploring the beauty of the landscaped gardens, waterfalls and plateaus.I and my family enjoy very much in Nuwara Eliya .

converted to hotel in 96, but no match to grand hotel. road is steep and not safe in rains being narrow. well preserved train bogey and history

once you visit this city, keep looking on both sides of the road to sea Team Plantations and people collecting Tea. very nice city and weather is very good. Enjoy the water falls all the way from Kandy to Nuwara Elia. Best place to try all kinds of Tea.

Visiting Nuwara Eliya and Tea Country is like visiting another world. Be sure to bring a sweater as the high altitude of Sri Lanka is quite cold in comparison to the rest of the country. The best tea in the world and you can taste all kinds of tea from Green tea to BOP (broken orange pekoe).
