Great place.

Great place, wonderful people and experience. It takes time to get there but is well worth it. Visit a tea plantation.

Choosing Train Ride was one of the best decisions of my travelling life. We travelled from Ella to Nuwara Elia! After the early morning hike to Little Adams peak Our driver dropped us at Ella train station from there we travelled to the most amazing , stunning, beautiful and unforgettable train journey of my life. From the mountain of Ella... More

The drive from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya is beautiful and do try to stop along the way to take in Sri Lankas natural beauty. Nuwara Eliya boasts of beautiful tea plantations and you can even take one such tour on your way up to the mean city. The city itself is a nice place to walk around as the town... More

Things have improved up there quite a bit! Whilst the downtown market is still mediocre, the wider and lake area have now good infrastructure and are quite inviting. Roads very good, people welcoming, landscape beautiful! Worth a visit, but lodging is heavily overprised. Do travel the extra mile towards Kandy or Ella for much more value for money! Or at... More

We took the train from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya, and the views were phenomenal. I didn't want to include this as part of my holiday initially, but thankfully I was talked into it. The train ride actually ended up being one of my favorite parts of the trip. The train winds through the tea plantations and the clouds, finally ending... More

This was the highlight of my visit to Sri Lanka, I was so surprised when we arrived in the Mountains how beautiful lush and green it all was. The gardens a spectacular and as for the Tea plantations amazing, I had no idea making tea was so involved ! You need at least three days here there is a lot... More

I stayed with my family at the Grand Heritage . Although the structure seemed quite old they have managed to maintain it well. Their buffet breakfast was one of the best spreads I have experienced. There is an Indian restaurant right next to it which has limited seating capacity and gets quite busy.. you may order room delivery too from... More

A visit to any of the tea estates is nice if you want to have a quick look at how tea is manufactured, taste the garden's produce and pick up freshly packaged tea. Done and dusted in 30 minutes flat. Nuwara Eliya is the disappointment. Crowded, slushy, dirty and lacking in picturesque qualities associated with hill towns, one can give... More
