Sri Lanka is famous with Ceylon tea and till today tea plantation is still playing a very important role in Sri Lanka. When planning for our trip to Sri Lanka, besides visiting Buddhist ruins tea garden is another highlight in the country. We came to Nuwara Eliya from Kandy, and we chosen an interesting way to come here, it's by... More

Everyone who is going to Sri Lanka should visit this area. This place is just amazing, absolutely awesome views on hills and valleys with tea plantations. It is something special, 2000 meters above sea level, fully green with breathtaking views. ( there you will see many kind of green color). Just be prepared for big temperature drop in the night... Nuwara Eliya, esp Horton plains is this dream place that everyone should visit at least once in life. So close to nature. He was friendly and speaks Mostly comprehensible... More

Everyone travelling to Sri Lanka should atleast keep two days stay at Nuwara Eliya. Beautiful scenic place with lots of tea plantations all around. A much needed respite from otherwise a bit hot and humid Sri Lanka. You can stroll in the Victoria park or the beautiful lake in the city, can go to Romboda falls, New Zealand farm or... More

Choose tea rooms that are larger as they tend to be cleaner. Cakes and tea are quite cheap, and you could also buy lots of tea at reasonable prices to bring back as gifts. Do visit a tea processing centre. We went to the Mackwoods co.

Can't say enough about how gorgeous this area is - tea plantations abound, I felt like I was in the transported back to the 19th century. Not to be missed if you are in Sri Lanka
