What an experience to be in the high country for you tea-lovers. The many hills are home to the fantastic trees that bring us the tea we love!

No visit to this island paradise can be complete without a few days in its central highlands. One must realize that besides the beaches you have these surreal tea estates for miles and miles and they certainly merit a visit. The best part is that Nuwara eliya is just a few hours from Colombo. The roads are in good shape... More

This area in Srilanka had amaaaaazing scenery. The mountains covered with tree bushes will simply wow you. It sadly stops there. Once you visit the tea plantations and tea factory (2 hours), there isn't much more to see and do in Nuwara Eliya. Unless you are a retired elderly with a passion for golf and birdwatching, this part of Srilanka will... More

The atmosphere is beautiful and the surroundings are very different from anything else you would experience in Sri Lanka. Make sure you book accommodation for at least two days in this area.

Cold mountains breeze blend in with warm tropical sun. The town is clean and safe and has been tastefully restored and landscaped

If you come for holiday in Sri Lanka. It is a must to visit Nuwara Eliya! The tea country. The whole area is so beautiful, lots of hotels with wonderful scenery. You can also stay at hotels in the tea estate. The drive to get there is a bit challenging on the windy road for motion sickness people (like me)... More

I wish we had stayed here for longer than a single night! It's a fantastic place, a home away from home and the city has some interesting quirks too.

This whole area is beautiful, they call it little England for good reason. So much to see and do. Unfortunatly I did not allow myself enough time to spend here. Tea plantations, waterfalls, botanical gardens, Temples. Travellers should allow yourself at least two days to explore the region. Excellent choice of hotels, wide range of food. Excellent fresh fruit stalls.
