This is a must see place in Sri Lanka, the scenery is stunning. We were going to take the train from Kandy to Nuwara Eliya but ended up going with our driver. This enabled us to stop numerous times to enjoy the views and waterfalls and tour a tea factory. Well worth the drive.

Great getaway from the noise and pollution of Colombo. Freshest vegetables you'll ever have. Cold weather, so dress accordingly.

NUWARA ELIYA, the picturesque Sri Lankan hill station known for its fine quality tea, has seen a growing traffic of visitors to what tourist brochures term “the only Sita temple in the world”. The recently constructed complex, which is patterned on the m odern south Indian temple, is set in idyllic countryside beside a clear stream. Adjacent to it is... More

I visited Nuwara Eliya again after seven years in August 2014 and this time I appreciated it so much more. The steep climb into the hills, the tea plantations for miles around and the clean air were just amazing. This time I could see the waterfalls and trees and everything and I even got down from the car to admire... More

We live in Singapore and this was just what we needed. A break from the heat and humidity with lots of space. The views here are many and wonderful. Around every bend you see another waterfall and rows upon rows of tea bushes, its stunning. Its gets cold up there so bring a jumper and long pants and do visit... More

Such a change of pace and environment to the other areas in Sri Lanka. We were amazed by all the amazing vegetables along with the tea plantations. We were there over a weekend so it was very busy with locals, but we still really enjoyed our visit.

Guide books and everything you read on the internet describe Nuwara Eliya as 'Little England'. Being from England, I can say with quite a lot of confidence that it is nothing like England. The most English thing about it was me. The town itself is like any other Srilankan town - dusty, dirty, busy. Not quaint at all. Accommodation was... More

These terraced tea plantations high amidst misty mountains, waterfalls and woodlands are absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed driving through and just watching the women work. They are scattered around the tea estates, carried huge wicker baskets on their backs and picked the leaves with quick nimble fingers. When ever we saw a favorite brand, we stopped by the reception office and... More
