Guide books and everything you read on the internet describe Nuwara Eliya as 'Little England'. Being from England, I can say with quite a lot of confidence that it is nothing like England. The most English thing about it was me. The town itself is like any other Srilankan town - dusty, dirty, busy. Not quaint at all. Accommodation was... More

These terraced tea plantations high amidst misty mountains, waterfalls and woodlands are absolutely breathtaking. We enjoyed driving through and just watching the women work. They are scattered around the tea estates, carried huge wicker baskets on their backs and picked the leaves with quick nimble fingers. When ever we saw a favorite brand, we stopped by the reception office and... More

We loved the weather and visiting the tea estates. Very peaceful, quiet and very relaxing. The town was very busy with lots of traffic during the day but the evenings were really nice.

Al around this area you will find lots of tea factories and great views on tea plantations. It's the better place to taste different types of teas and to buy excellent quality tea if you like it.

It rains a lot.. But then how else will you see the amazing green of miles upon miles of plantations, hundreds of waterfalls and a golf course in nuwara Elia that doesn't need a sprinkler system.

The trip between Kandy and NE was a pleasant drive through tea country. Twisting and turning between so many tea plantations. We stopped and one of the tea factories and shops. It was very informative of the tea production steps. It gives a new profound respect for tea.

Spent 3 nights here, should have made it 2. Not a huge amount to do, and it was cold and damp in July. Tea plantations are excellent, Horton plains and worlds end worth a visit, but quite expensive. Excellent cheap restaurant s in town. Good outdoor clothing market so you can buy a warm jacket!

Very Informative, worth doing even with kids. No expectation or pressure to buy anything. Interesting to see both the old and new technology and traditional tea pickers.
