It is a private garden planting all sorts of flowers for the seasons. There is also Japanese style garden. The area is vast and you can easily spend more than a hour there. The trees, lakes and waterfalls make it a good place for photography.

THis is a the go to garden if you want to learn about how to plant confirers to best effect. Including a typical Japanese pond setting, there is even a Tyrollean chalet! I found the visit very educational and certainly opened my eyes to the possibilities of conifer planting in a modern context as well as traditional.

This is a beautiful place to visit, I really enjoyed the Japanese Gradens, my only regret is that we did not see any squirrels though there were a few eldely folk enjoying the gardens too. The next time I am in Obihiro I would like to see the entire garden, it would probably take about 2-3 hours.

Spent a peaceful hour rambling around the grounds, not a single person in sight, just a few squirrels.

Beautiful specimen tree garden with some pavilions built for visits by the imperial family in the 1920s/1930s.
