It's surprised that there is an island which has a chinese temple there. Unfortunately, there was any event when I came there. It's nice to visit something different in the middle of Musi River.

A 40 minute boat ride one way along the Musi River is the excitement. Children will enjoy it very much.Nothing on the island except there is a Chinese temple and a pagoda. But if you do not go to the island, you will have nothing to do in Palembang. The island is full of activity during Chinese New Year.

We rent a speed boat to reach destination. The trip was a bit scary, since it was a bumpy trip whenever the boat bumped to some waves from the big ship. The scenery was a new thing for me, you can see factory plant and a big container or coal ship along the river. It took less than 30mins and... More

The Vihara is located in a small island in Sungai Musi. Nothing much to see as the gate to the vihara was locked Place is not properly maintained. The boat ride was quite interesting . But watch out for the cost of the boat ride. One guy asked for IDR500. But eventually we got one for 200k

Kemaro Island is a small island in a big river called Sungai Musi, with an attractive Chinese Pagoda on it. We took a speed boat (Rp 200k, round trip) from the jetty at Benteng Kuto Besak, an esplanade near the Ampera Bridge. Must be an illegal boat: Its roof just touches the jetty floor. Deck is almost 5ft below. Getting... More

Since there was not much to see in Palembang, a visit to Kemaro island should be a nice change of pace. The trip to the island was more interesting than the island itself. The usual way is to use the little boat called "ketek", with IDR 150 K, for round trip. You can spent as long as you like in... More

The temple is situated in the middle of a river, on an island. To get here, you will need to rent a boat from one of the piers in Musi. Dealing prices with the operator can be a real pain, if you do not have a good command of Indonesian language. Worse so, that even us Indonesians don't understand the... More
