Chinese temple in the middle of the river

Get a boat (called ketek) and go across the river to visit this magnificent temple. Nice place to take photos and feel one of the historical place in Palembang.

Palembang is a city with sunshine. Should you want to experience traditional boat trip along Musi river, take "ketek". It takes approx. 40 minutes to reach the island. It costs IDR 100.000/person with min, 2 persons you could have the whole boat for you. Try to visit in the afternoon.

Worth to visit if you like to learn folk religion of overseas Chinese. Some artifacts inside temples are not available elsewhere. Unfortunately, I am not allowed to take picture due to temple rule. On Lunar New Year eve, devotees come.

We spent half day for this trip as it took almost 40 minutes to get there by boat (we chartered a motor boat costing us IDR 400,000 round trip). You can see quite and interesting river life along the Musi river and some industrial facility just as we were about to approach the island. The island is quite green, quite... More

This place can be reached by boat, it took about 45 minutes from the dock. If you can not swim you should be careful, because there is no life jackets provided. But a trip to the island is very interesting..

Chinese culture are inseparable from Palembang life culture. From Srivijaya era, Chinese imigrant making a trade, literartur, art and tradition in Palembang expand widely. You can see all of Chinese heritage of palembang in here. Please coming early to avoid unnecessary boat from inland. Take people boat not speed boat. By taking people boat you help them prosper and brough... More

It's quite place with less attraction. To reach there via boat, it took about 45 minutes journey (sorry, no life jacket provided). Nothing much to see, except the temple and the tall pagoda. Visitor is not allowed to enter the pagoda. No restaurant available except small stall selling drinks.
