The tour guide was very informative, and we learned a lot. It was interesting to learn the ordinary beginnings of a man who became President of the US.

We took the tour given by the Park Service. Excellent tour that truly shows how the president lived out his days here. He had to have been one of the few presidents that was from common folk.

Be sure and review the NPS www before arriving so that you follow ALL the rules - specifically no weapons so leave your massive 1 inch pocket knife that Grandpa gave you in the car so you are not committing a felony. Go to the NPS center downtown to get tickets to tour the Truman house - no tickets available... More

We visited here kind of on a whim to fill time and were very pleasantly surprised! The house is not what one would picture a former president living in. The tour is for a small group, which was very nice, because it felt more personal. The tour guide was knowledgeable and personable. We would definitely go again if we are... More

Very nice visit back in time. Great to see the house as it was left by its residents. They were down to earth and their decor showed it. Nice jewel fir all to see.

This is a tour worth your time if you are at all interested in the Trumans, or in how we lived in the mid to late 20th Century. The house is really a preserved time capsule, willed to the people of the USA by Bess Truman, and cared for by the National Park Service. Tours are limited to 8 visitors,... More

We only saw the outside of the home, if you want to see the inside you must by tickets at the Visitor's Center, you can't buy them at the home. We didn't have much time and didn't get to see the interior of the home. We did take photos of the outside, the grounds are well keep up. There is... More

The house is by tour only. You go to the Visitor's Center first to buy tickets. The visitor's center is small, but they have a short film they will show you as well. The Ranger at the house tour gave some interesting information. You only see the first floor of the house, as the NPS is trying to preserve it... More

Separate from the Library, this is a necessary stop to get a full understanding of Harry Truman. With everything just as the Trumans left it, you to get a real feel for the family. The personally guided tours never have more than 8 people and the "interpreter" who lead us shared his extensive knowledge of the house and the family.... More

We love historical homes - and this one is wonderfully maintained. Our guide had tremendous knowledge about the Truman family and clearly loved his job. Wish we would have been there a few days later, then they would have had the garage open so you could see the family car! The visitor center where you buy tickets has a 12... More
