We tour Frontier Independence where three trails began, two Civil War battles were fought and one President began his march to the White House. We give tours from single parties to tour buses filling a wagon train of covered wagons. Add the finishing touch to a perfect wedding with an intimate wedding adventure ride.

Ralph loves his lifestyle, he is passionate and so keen to share the history of Independence Missouri with you. I took the hour and three quarters, being a lover of history and already finding that along with Kansas City MO Independence has some of the best kept secrets. Ralph has a way of transporting you to time of the Civil... More

The passion that Ralph, the owner/tour guide feels for Independence, Missouri, Harry Truman and the pioneers pours out during the covered wagon tour. I learnt so much that I am inspired to go and read a load of books about things I learnt. From riding on the original pioneer trail to finding out out about the influence of Independence's history... On our recent trip to St. Joseph, Missouri, we planned to visit Independence on our way home. We got up early today, ate some hotel breakfast and hit the road by 8:15. We headed south to Independence. We arrived at a quarter past nine - fifteen minutes ahead of the time we had reserved for a covered wagon tour. We... More

He was good tour guide, and it was an interesting tour, but it geared for kids more than adults. i would have liked more details about the civil war battles and the mormon war.

Our guide was excellent! He really is a GREAT story teller! Loved the covered wagon driven by a team of mules! The guide took us to all the spots in town and explained all about Harry S Truman and his family and also about the Civil War the soldiers, captains, etc. We really enjoyed this tour and would recommend it... If you are going to visit Independence, MO, you MUST take one of the tours offered by Ralph, your "trail guide", at Pioneer Trails Adventures. We are a family of 4, with 2 kids, age 9 and 6, and our 9 year old studied and read about the Oregon Trail this last school year. We were very excited to take... More

Well worth the $$. We took the 1+ hour ride on a covered wagon being drawn by two Missouri mules. The wagon master really knows about the area, Truman, and local historical events. He's a very good presenter/history teacher (wish I'd had this guy for a teacher while in school!) We are very glad we decided to take this tour... More
