Don't miss this! Ralph has three sets of mules and they are each delightful. Starting in the heart of Town, you see the area through the eyes of a perceptive entertainer and practical historian ... not just the Truman Independence but its entire history from the pioneer migration west and the bloody Civil War; all brought back to its influence... The tour was very educational and entertaining. The guide was very nice and interacted with us. I loved his mules Becky and bell. I didn't know independence mo had so much history until today. It was chilly and the wind was blowing and he did offer blankets to cover up with. The wagon was in good shape. Truly enjoyed the... More

A wonderful time in the oxen driven wagon round the streets of Independence. The driver and guide Ralph was entertaining and knowledgeable. The trip was leisurely but the story telling was pacey. A great way to start our 2000+ mile journey along the Oregon Trail.

Taking in a trip through town in a covered wagon is an experience in itself, but having a wonderful tour guide who is passionate about history is definitely worth experiencing. We recently went on this tour and even though it poured half way though our 1 hour tour we did not get wet as the side flaps were down on... More

Ralph Goldsmith, owner and wagon master of Pioneer Trails Adventures, is an awesome mule driver. You'll experience the city of Independence past and present. He's entertaining and educational at the same time. Families will enjoy the experiences he provides. His mules are beautiful. Hopefully you'll get Bess and Mary Margaret for your wagon tour. We did and we loved them!!

Ralph loves his lifestyle, he is passionate and so keen to share the history of Independence Missouri with you. I took the hour and three quarters, being a lover of history and already finding that along with Kansas City MO Independence has some of the best kept secrets. Ralph has a way of transporting you to time of the Civil... More

I was sent to the pick up point speedily from the visitors center and instead of getting the knowledgeable man got a silent woman. Later after I abandoned therm I saw the man and heard him One more nail in the coffin of the visitors center, see my previous review

The passion that Ralph, the owner/tour guide feels for Independence, Missouri, Harry Truman and the pioneers pours out during the covered wagon tour. I learnt so much that I am inspired to go and read a load of books about things I learnt. From riding on the original pioneer trail to finding out out about the influence of Independence's history... On our recent trip to St. Joseph, Missouri, we planned to visit Independence on our way home. We got up early today, ate some hotel breakfast and hit the road by 8:15. We headed south to Independence. We arrived at a quarter past nine - fifteen minutes ahead of the time we had reserved for a covered wagon tour. We... More
