I spent the past weekend in KC expressly to visit the WWI National Museum downtown, see a Royals' game, and visit this presidential museum. My stop here was the hi-light of my trip. Admission is $8. You can or should start your visit with an introductory film which provides a comprehensive overview of President Truman's life. From there you follow... More

I have visited Truman Library on three separate occasions. Each experience that I've had has been positive and informative. I like that the library hosts traveling exhibits in their lower level event space, so not only can you learn about President Truman and his tenure in the White House, but you can also go downstairs and learn about something totally... Learned so much more about the multitude of tough decisions he had to make. Very well done. Great resource for learning before and after life of this "average American" that became President.

We had never been to a Presidential Library before, but this was an amazing place to visit. We chose this over the home (run by the Natl Parks) because it was available (home tours are limited) and all home and personal info is also at the Library!

It seemed like a million stoplights before we arrived at the Truman Library and Museum, but we were glad we stopped. An imposing modern building high on a hill, it was a pleasant way to spend an afternoon and learn more about Harry S. Truman and his family. The museum was well organized with an easy flow and good spacing... More

This is the first time we've visited a Presidential Library, but it was so close to where we were staying it seemed like a no-brainer to go. We had no idea what to expect, but it was very well laid out, and had very interesting and informative exhibits to help explain Truman's presidency to two people who weren't alive then.... More

I enjoyed this months visit just as much as the first time I visited in 1969. The movie on Truman's life was informational and showed both strengths and weaknesses. A comprehensive review of the end of WW II and the tough decisions made by HST.

This is a great place to learn a little bit about World War II and the Cold War, and especially about the President behind the big decisions. It was awesome to learn about the life and legacy of President Truman. The displays, exhibits and movies were presented in such a way that it was understandable and very interesting for both... More

The museum and library tells the story of the life, times, presidency, and challenges of Harry Truman in an engaging way using multi media presentations. A three hours walk through will provide a good, fundamental overview to the man and the complex, challenging times of his presidency. For those who have a passion for history and/or the study of leadership,... More

We enjoyed the library. It was presented well, easy to follow and it did not take all day. Some of the later Presidential libraries are huge and, in part, boring. You can tell in this library that President Truman had a very tough time deciding whether or not to drop the Atomic Bomb.
