Truman is a fascinating man. I learned so much about his life, his presidency and his retirement. There was plenty to do to interest my kids (6 & 9) which gave us time to read the detailed exhibits. The girls enjoyed it so much, they have already asked when we can go back! We all had our favorite exhibits. I... More

We liked this presidential library so much we took a break for lunch in downtown Independence and came back in the afternoon. It covers a lot of history during the time of Truman's service.

We visited the library and museum with two teenage boys, none of us knowing much about Truman. We took our time and read all of the wonderful displays in chronological order. The museum is full of information and artifacts and is very well presented. I especially like the Oval Office replica and his personal office he worked in for 9... More

Well presented museum on the life and Presidency of Harry Truman. Not too much stuff, not too little. The replica Oval Office is excellent and I love the touch of President Truman welcoming everyone. The Thomas Hart Benton in the foyer is worth the price of admission alone.

Very interesting! This is a great stop for families of middle school and older children. Our kids loved it as well as ourselves. Appealing and impressed with the work put in to this museum.

This is a wonderful presidential library and museum and, I believe, it is the first one of its kind in the U.S. Displays are well done and easy to follow. It was like stepping back in time. Truman's office (private and a replica of the Oval Office in the White House) are displayed exactly as they were in his day.... More

It doesn't matter what political party you support, this attraction is worth your time. This is American history. The artifacts provide a wonderful behind-the-scenes look of an American president. Your pass is good for a couple of days, so no need to rush through. This was well worth our time.

the details of history are here - not sugar coated. Kids may get a flavor of how complicated history can be - and how luck may determine the course of history.

Well first of all, I REALY LIKED HARRY. Second, we have never been to one that was not fascinating and well done. The information and displays about his presidency, WWII, the dropping of the two Nuclear Weapons, were teriffic. But the high lite of the museum was the fantastic large mock-up of the esterior and interior of the White House... More
