Dated, but very clean, easy to find your way around. Helpful staff, book store, replica of the Oval Office, they had one of his cars downstairs - and when I visited there was a traveling exhibit. Lots of artifacts, good for a history buff or someone who wants a glimpse of the end of WW2. Good history of Harry's early... More

Although I live in the area, it had been many years since I had visited the Truman Library. I was really impressed with how the exhibits had been updated, with an easier-to-follow historical narrative built into more of the displays.

This Library gives good insight into the presidency of Harry S. Truman. The grounds are nice and the displays are quite interesting. There is also a nice shop for souvenirs and memorabilia.

Visited with a friend. Really enjoyed seeing the handwritten letters between the Trumans. Also impressed with the Nazionale surrender document. Video at beginning excellent. Plenty of interactive activities for kids.

We visited the Truman museum and library with our teenage grandchildren and our daughter and her husband. We spent hours viewing the interesting displays. We all throughly enjoyed the museum and library. This is must see attraction.

This was an exceptional experience! The tour guide Bill was a wealth of knowledge , taking of though the library and educating us about Truman and his life. I think this may have been the highlight of our visit to KC. A lot of people don't know much about Truman but after visiting you will know and love the man... More

On our way back to Illinois, my wife and I stopped in Independence, Missouri to check out the Harry S. Truman Library and Museum. We have heard a lot of great things about it and decided it would be worth the time to see it. We were there for at least a couple of hours! There was so much to... More

I really enjoyed my visit to this museum. I'm a history buff so it was even more thrilling to spend a lot of time with all of the exhibits. One of the best things is that they did not gloss over some of the more challenging aspects of Truman's presidency. Make sure you stop and see the movie in the... More

Our trip was primarily to visit the WWI museum. We saw the local signs about this museum and decided to visit it before our trip home. And so glad we did! It was a trip back in time that we are so glad we took. The museum does a great job of letting visitors experience the world and national situation... More

A fun, interesting step into history. Spent 3 hours and would like to spend 3 to 6 hours more. From the introductory movie to the safety plug from one of the first atom bombs, there was much to see and to learn. My wife and I were exhausted after 2 hours. Yet we kept on learning. Yes, history repeats itself!... More
