Being a controversial president, it was very interesting to see all the issues he had to deal with. And, surprisingly, they express things from not only the pro-Truman supporting side. The entire museum is very detailed, from Harry's childhood and throughout his entire life. Well worth a couple hours to visit.

Have not been here for many years, so it was almost all new again to me. And so interesting. Great displays and presentations. It was a gloomy Sunday before Christmas, and we almost had the entire building to ourselves. Of special interest was the traveling display of Madeleine Albright's pin collection. Very special and so glad I got to see... More

I recently went to the traveling exhibit being held there. Madeline Albright Broaches. It was very interesting. I learned a lot about her and why she wore them. The rest of the museum was very interesting. I learned a lot about Harry Truman and his family and extended family. I've lived here in the Kansas City area all my life... More

Our visit to the library and museum was informative and interesting. Displays were well organized. The interactive decision rooms were also interesting. Despite the chilly day, the warmth of the museum exhibits made our visit very enjoyable.

Very thought provoking museum. He was president during one of the most significant historical periods in our country. I was surprised to learn of his humble childhood beginnings. I would love to return and spend more time here.

I grew up not far from the Library, and went on occasion back then. I was happily surprised with the complete renovation that has obviously been done in the past few years. This is the best-laid-out Presidential Libraries that I've been to thus far. The volume of effects and memorabilia was quite impressive.....far more than I recall from childhood. There... More

The Truman Museum was very interesting. The introductory film was very good, the exhibits were nice, especially some of his personal belongings that were there. The gravesite was nice and being able to see his personal post-presidency office was great.

This was a great experience. The biographical facts and old photos were fascinating. There was an interactive wall for kids in addition to period costumes. The reproduction of the Oval office put you right back to the '40's. There is a nice little gift shop. There is even a very well preserved automobile from the '40's. We enjoyed our self-guided... I only had a short time but decided that a short side trip into Missouri would be worth it before I flew out of Kansas City. I spent a couple of hours there and it was well worth it. The short film introduction gave a good background as to how Truman became president and how his life experiences shaped his... More

Being a student of presidential history, I try to get to as many presidential libraries and homes as I can. The Truman museum features a replica of his Oval office and his home office, replete with the pictures and trinkets he had there. Bess, his family, and his graves are there too in a beautiful open central courtyard. There are... More
