This is the first time we've visited a Presidential Library, but it was so close to where we were staying it seemed like a no-brainer to go. We had no idea what to expect, but it was very well laid out, and had very interesting and informative exhibits to help explain Truman's presidency to two people who weren't alive then.... More

I enjoyed this months visit just as much as the first time I visited in 1969. The movie on Truman's life was informational and showed both strengths and weaknesses. A comprehensive review of the end of WW II and the tough decisions made by HST.

This is a great place to learn a little bit about World War II and the Cold War, and especially about the President behind the big decisions. It was awesome to learn about the life and legacy of President Truman. The displays, exhibits and movies were presented in such a way that it was understandable and very interesting for both... More

The museum and library tells the story of the life, times, presidency, and challenges of Harry Truman in an engaging way using multi media presentations. A three hours walk through will provide a good, fundamental overview to the man and the complex, challenging times of his presidency. For those who have a passion for history and/or the study of leadership,... More

We enjoyed the library. It was presented well, easy to follow and it did not take all day. Some of the later Presidential libraries are huge and, in part, boring. You can tell in this library that President Truman had a very tough time deciding whether or not to drop the Atomic Bomb.

I hadn't been to the Truman Library for more than 30 years. What was impressive was the collection of declassified documents that were on display. The exhibits were great. The one thing that I enjoyed so many years ago and did again today was getting to see the replica of the Oval Office as it was when Truman was president.... More

We hadn't been to the library in decades, but saw they were having a "spy" exhibit and thought it would be the perfect time to visit again. We checked the "Visit Independence" website and were pleased to find a BOGO coupon for the museum. Upon arriving we stopped at the replica Liberty Bell on the front lawn and discovered why... More

The Truman Library is educational, interesting and fun. My 11 year old grandchildren and 72 year old brother all enjoyed it. If you visit Kansas City, take the short drive to Independence and spend a couple of hours in this gem.

Impressive. I had never been to a Presidential library before, and I was expecting to see only a bunch of paper. We learned a lot.

This is a nice tour to learn about history. It is set up to show you President Truman and his era. The museum does a great job of this.
