This museum was a great stop with a lot to learn about President Truman. You could easily spend several hours here if you want to.

We returned after many years and were not disappointed. We made sure to allow plenty of time to visit, view and read every exhibit. It is amazing just how much you can learn each time. One of the reasons is that they vary the exhibits from time to time so you may always see something new.

The Harry S.Truman Library and Museum is a great presidential library. There was so much important history that occurred during Truman's presidency. Very interesting. There is a 45 minute movie that runs every hour on the half hour. Then there is a 15 minute film as you start the tour, however, this pretty much duplicates the first part of the... More

Having grown up in Missouri, this museum was the required 8th grade field trip. Here it is more than 40 years since my first visit, and I had the feeling that not a lot has changed in the museum (but the neighborhood has certainly declined). Don't get me wrong, it's more than informative, comprehensive, and an important part of history.... More

I have lived in Independence for about 15 years and recently decided to avail myself of one of our city's unique bright spots; The Harry S. Truman Library. As much traveling as I have engaged in over the years I have to admit that I am rather disenchanted with myself that I had never considered the Truman Library worth the... More

Being in Independence, and being a Truman “fan”, I knew this would be a must do. It is a bit out of the way, however not difficult to find with GPS. The building is low and unassuming, again typical of Truman. There is an $8 adult admission, which was more than fair. They do take credit cards. I got there... More

Great exhibits, and very informative. Really enjoyed learning about Harry's early years and what shaped him as a man. So interesting to read about the role he played in that time of our nation's history. Thought provoking interactive exhibits and helpful staff made us decide that we want to visit all the presidential libraries in upcoming years!

We were lucky enough to be there on Sunday, November 9th, and experienced a special tribute to veterans. There was a wonderful concert on the steps of the library, an address by a retired admiral, a wreath laying ceremony with a bagpiper and 21 gun salute! Allow several hours to tour the presidential library! Loved the replica of the Oval... More

Nice video presentation. The exhibits change throughout the year. Also, be sure to tour the Truman Home, just a few blocks to the south!

was a good introduction for kids about Truman. We really enjoyed the exhibits. Then we went to Clinton Soda Shop, but they were closed
