I hired two separate private courses for complete beginners: one for my 10-year-old son and another for me. Each course consisted of three lessons of 75 minutes each lessons. Lessons were taken in 3 consecutive days. These lessons were the first time we had contact with a surf board. I stayed in the O-CE-N Outrigger (30 meters from the School)... More

The staff were extremely helpful and great fun to be around. The courses were well planned and there was at least one instructor in the water for every two students. They were attentive and helped to fix faults throughout the lesson providing assistance wherever necessary. Great fun for my wife and kids. Two minor issues - we picked Rip Curl because they were walking distance from the hotel - unfortunately because of weather conditions we had to travel 45 minutes to another beach, and the surf was well off shore meaning further boat travel. No real dramas but we were expecting some nice easy shore... More

I would recommend rip curl surf school to everyone, and already have in-person as I meet people. I took 4 lessons with them - their standard 3 lesson progression and an extra one. I would say that it is a lot more expensive than just renting a board and hiring a local to teach you, but you get soooooo much... More

Looked at a couple of Surf schools to do Kite surfing lessons, glad we chose Rip Curl, We had 4 different instructors over 3 days and all were very patient and explained everything well, gear was well kept and plenty available. More
