Nice beach. Its a rocky beach on some places around the beach. You can also visit to 'vivekanand rock memorial' by steamer which is in the ocean.

Kanyakumari is a small town. The kanyakumari mandir is not only beautiful but has a very powerful presence situated rite next to the ocean. The Vivekananda memorial is worth a visit as the breeze of the ocean engulfs you completely. you feel the unexhaustible energy of the ocean waves!!!!!!

Unfortunately this area is now ruined by pollution, beggars, stalls and touts. The place was a mess - we were used to India (been India for 2months at this point) but we also had a really weird and unsafe vibe. We weren't there for a sunset or sunrise so i can't say what it would be like then but i... More

Sunset and sunrise are ruined by the pollution and unfortunately the beach is as well. If you are use to India pollution you will be fine. A beautiful place ruined by rubbish, touts, honking horns, beggars and pollution.

Believe me sunset in Kanya kumari isn't overrated. It's totally worth going there just for this. Sun rise wasn't so good. If you are in a hurry don't stay the night for sun rise.
