Whatever good the building, it seems to be boring roaming inside. No maintenance at all. Not at all a value of history. Just have a simple logic with the sun's rays falling on the ground. Could not find any useful things for children. Just lots of framed photographs with something written down explaining it.

The place has historic value. Many people won't be interested in visiting this place. But it's really worth a visit. It has Mahatma Gandhiji's pictures. It has a small play area for the kids. There is a special place in the mandapam where the sunlight falls directly on the that particular place on the day of Gandhi Jayanthi (October 2)... More

It is clean and located at proximity from the parking so walking is a treat since there are many venues to shop small stuff and eat too.

We reached the place late in the evening. This closes at 7:00 PM. It has good historic value and some old photograps of the times. It also has a smal play area where kids can spend sometime. The multiple floors give a good view of the sea and help get a refreshing wave of fresh air.

A local man unofficially gave us a brief tour of the central chamber of Gandhi madapam, and explained how it was built to represent all 3 major religions in India- Hindu, Muslim, and Christianity. He of course asked for a voluntary donation. It is almost on the southern most tip of India! a significant position.

This is worth a quick visit. Building is a nice design mixing Hindu, Christian and Muslim architechture. Old photos on the walls but not much information. The guides allow Europeans in to the centre to see where the sunlight falls on the platform where Ghandi's ashes were kept The guides expect tipping. You can also go up a couple of... More
