The service is a combined one with the first drop at the vivekanda rock memorial and the second drop to the Thiruvalluvar memorial near by. Good... More

One of India's landmarks at the southern tip of Indian mainland. Swami Vivekananda swam across the rocky stretch of about 200 mtrs, I believe and created a place for meditation. Subsequently the temple was built in his honour. The maintenance of the island and the temple is in good hands. The trusties are a disciplined lot, who are gently guiding... More

A wonderful place to visit in India, proud of India. You can feel the tranquility once you reach there by boat from mainland. The view of the mainland is beautiful from there and also different colours of sea water .

Kindly requesting all of those visiting Kanyakumari not to miss this monument. You will feel really charged up and motivated while sitting in those rocks. visit during morning hours or in the evening (avoid going during mid noon as it is too hot) .

Really nice experience. But the statue made in 2000 just beside the main rock - was that really needed? Is it essential to bring Politics and religion everywhere???

This is the very island, on which swami Vivekanand spent 3 days meditating, before leaving for the Chicago World religion conference in 1893. The breeze is very powerful here, and the environment is very enjoyable. You will need to take a ferry plus ticket to reach here.
