This place is loosing it's aura... They were painting the saffron color, so it was not looking nice... also the tiruvallur statue is too huge and imposing... takes away the gravity of the place. I am a Vivekananda and Ramakrishna Ashram person, so it's sad!

I would really request everyone to visit this place at least once in their lifetime. The memorial is a few meters away from the shore and we take a ferry to reach there. The experience at the memorial is something that cannot be expressed or written. Lazing around there in the breeze surrounded by the sea from all directions is something... More

scene is excellent. Have to stand in the queue from 8AM. But due to the tide it got delayed and started 11AM. It will take 10 mins on the sea. The ferry was overcrowded. Be careful (if travelling with kids) while boarding/de-boarding because the ferry will shake.

You really dont need to try hard to recognise the colours. Its truly a sight not worth missing in your lifetime. If possible do see either a sunrise or the sunset. (There is s separate tower built for that). There is a guest house of Kerala tourism. We watched the sunset from the terrace of that (thats because we went... More

Kanyakumari- the Southernmost tip of Indian Peninsula where the Arabian Ocean, the Indian Ocean and the Bay of Bengal meet together. In 1970 I visted this place and could see borders of these three; but not this time. Locals said that it is missing since Sunami 10+ years ago. In the evening watched and enjoyed the Sunset. We could see the... More

The location is ultimate. You can watch the multiple colours of sea water due to the confluence of Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal & Indian Ocean. Vivekananda the epitome of knowledge, meditated there for 3 days before going to the world religious summit in Chicago in 1862. The meditation hall is though small, but for those who want to find... Interesting experience with my yoga teacher friends on a lovely day in kanyakumari .. It was worthed to wait in the line to purchase tickets for the boat to take us to the memorial . At the end of our trip we had a mini meditation session .
