Visited Kanyakumari in January 2014 and this quaint little town is a perfect getaway for the city crazed. Spent one night but could have easily spent more if time had permitted. Need to take a ferry to this small island which seems like the northernmost part of India (Andaman Islands, i think would be the northern most). Has a small... More

Its Hot, there's a long queue to take the ferry, you have to walk barefoot on the hot stones once you reach the memorial but at the end its all worth it. Do look if you are in KanyaKumari.

Lots of people board the ferry for the 5-10 minute trip to the popular Vivekananda Rock Memorial sometimes on relatively rough water. The memorial stands on two rocks on the southernmost tip of India and was built in 1970 and has an interesting history that one should read. It is also a spot where three seas merge, the Bay of... The location of the attraction is great and in fact it is the only place which could be classified as attraction. As we visited in the peak time we have to wait for 5 hours in a que to visit the rock. There are only two jettys which can take you to the rock.
