The lake is huge and there is a long promenade (walk) on a side of it which is absolutely safe and tourists walk for as much distance they want and return back on the same path. There is beautiful sunset view there and some vendors with corn and goals. Careful while you eat corn. It had caused severe diarrhoea to... More

Valvan lake: It is off the Pune-Mumbai highway in the Valvan village. It is huge expanse of water. A nice place to take photographs and spend a few minutes watching the beauty of the lake and the serene surroundings. The water from this lake serves as drinking water for the people of Lonavala. There is lot of greenery around the... More

Situated in the middle of valvan village, off old mum-pune highway. A quiet place to spend an hour with family and friends. No restaurants or dhabas around. Only a few general stores. The lake is full of water throughout the year.

A place which can be visited atleast once a year just a month after the monsoon begins. Walk about half a kilometer to the dam and enjoy the greenery and the dam.

located close to lonavala, about 10 km, the catchment area of valvan dam is a really beautiful location especially in monsoons. access is bit restricted as it is used for drinking water and hydropower purposes. can be accessed from kamshet end or by trekking. lush greenery and waterfalls make it a lovely sight

Restricted access controlled by TATA group. We were turned away. We were offered few clues by the security guard to spell the password to get entry like "tata employee?", "govt employee? " etc. No luck after minutes of trying to cajole the guard.

Very picturesque lake. On the way from Tiger Point, we had to stop on reaching the lake - very picturesque and a sure shot photography point. However max spend 20 mins - dont budget more.
