I have been to this place several times, and each time the experience is splendid. Best time to go is during monsoons and with a bunch of enthu friends. The clouds on the fort is a sight to cherish.

It is one of the oldest Fort of Maharashtra. There is nothing much in the fort but trekking here is fun.

It is a complete day trek on this fort. Keep your supplies of food and water along with you as you will not get much on the fort. A enjoyable experience with friends but very tiring.

This fort is close to Malavali station nearby Bhaje caves. It is the best for monsoon. Trek begins from the Malavali Railway station and a lot of trekkers from Pune and Mumbai visit this fort in monsoon time. Climbing till the top of fort (from malavali station) takes around 2 to 2.5 hours. Now Tar road is newly constructed for... More

Lohagarh is one of the simplest treks close to Pune (closer to Lonavala). If goin by train then the nearest station is Malavali. You have to take the Pune local going to Lonavla to reach Malavali station (an hour from Pune station). Once at Malavali you start the trek on foot. If arriving by road then you have to reach... Whatever is your group size or age group, this is one place that should not be missed in the rains. It transforms into another world with the view from the top making adrenaline rush. Tip: Be careful not to allow kids to venture all by their own as some areas do not have edges and are very slippery due to... More

Important thing is to travel early in the morning. Early morning views are good and easy to climb up to the fort. Cars can go half the way.
