We walked up from a parking in Bhaje. The earlier part is motorable, till the foothill of the last hill which hosts the fort. We walked up anyway. The trek is very green and it can be very quiet - which was very pleasant. The long trek made the final summit even more worthwhile. Once on the top of the... More

Ways to reach : There are two ways to do the trek, 1) Walk all the way from Bhaje village upto 11.9 Kms to reach the top or 2) One can drive upto foot hills of this fort which is Lohegadwadi and start climbing from there. As weather was not that cloudy on the day and it would have been... More

Its great place to visit and nearby pune location. Its an easy trek (or No trek for experienced trekkers). There are two ways to go to lohagarh 1. Malavli -> Bhaje Gaon -> lohgarh 2. Lonavla -> Lohgarh. I will prefer 1st way, as we can enjoy awesome waterfalls at Malavli and Bhaje.

After a tiring journey to Mulshi Dam and Thahni ghat, we scaled this Fort. Wonderful view of green villages and water bodies like Mulshi Lake. After covering about 80% of the height, the so called steps become slippery due to the monsoon and we avoided it, due to the age of 56 years. Very enjoyable and adventurous place for youngsters.... By making a tar road till almost the Fort the pleasure of trekking on unpaved raods has been destroyed. But, the road makes it easy for wannabe trekkers. I suggest you leave early in the morning - auto rickshaws drop you till the Bhaja village and with some cajoling may drop you a bit ahead. Ensure that you have caps,... More

This is one of best forts near pune. It is very close and 30 mins bike ride. Visit during monsoons - the place is flush with greenery. Take some snacks and drinks and travel to the top with freinds. Its a good experience.

Its more like one good solid work out season to reach there. Fort is not worth to see since everything is in ruins not maintained at all but go there as good tracking option. Carry some water and food along with you.

Had been to this fort a couple of times during the rains. Awesome place to be during the rains with clouds almost touching your feet and lush green view from the top..This was the first time i had been there during winter. Not a bad experience to mention..Still a cool breeze blowing across .Its just that may be during clear... More
