I aften travel to Allepey for business & have seen this beach a couple of times, but find it Average. Not very clean, but still much much better than many other beaches in India.

The beach at Alleppy lies between the Arabian Sea and the backwaters, and is as pristine as either of them.Clean expanse of sand and lack of pesky vendors make it a tourist's delight. It is laid back and comforting. The sunset here is magical,do not miss it.

as with most places in India, Alleppey beach is filthy. not a place to swim or lie on the beach. there were half a dozen camels if you wanted to ride one but they looked quite sorry and we felt sad for them there really isn't much along the beach. we did spot a few hotels but they are small... Between 1994 and 1996, I jogged there in the mornings and visited during the weekends with my family. Though not as big as Marina or the Shangumugam or Kovalam, is a small and beautiful beach. The pier there stands waiting for ships. After the Portugese, only one Indian ship came there. Communism killed the port.
