A great destination to get out of Shanghai for a long weekend and cool off in the summer in the caves. The surrounding area was impressive with the mountains, forests, and Chinese culture. To get inside the main cave you have to lay down in a shallow boat and get pulled in. Definitely one of the highlights!

This cave is really cool, lit with green, pink, purple and red lights. The cave is about 15 C year-round, so it is cool even on a summer's day. You have to lay down in a boat to get into the inner cave, which was really neat. The cave has a lot of history and interesting sights.

been there when I was quite young, then another time a couple of years ago. There are a lot more to do and see other than the cave. Try the restaurants on the mountain or go to see the reservoir. Even for locals, we don't really go there often.

Although the lights and sound system can be a bit gaudy at times, and the caves aren't in the best condition, the boat trip in and through the caves is quite atmospheric. Visiting during the off-peak season, there were few other visitors, and we didn't even need to wait to get in. Allow yourself a couple of hours to see... More

Very nice place to visit. What is cool is that when you enter the cave you have to lay down on a boat and the cave is inches from your face. My suggestion is to bring a towel it gets crazy humid in the cave.

I didn't know about this pace but as we had a day free our colleagues suggested visiting the caves and surrounding area. Firstly for those in Australia who have been to the Jenolan Caves or Naracoorte - these aren't as pristine. Unfortunately centuries of visitations and I'm guessing poor control have meant the caves have been damaged. But what remains... More

The best thing is, you go there with an outside temperature of 35 degrees and inside it is 15 degrees, fantastic....

After 9 days straight of 12 hour days in the factory. We took a break, unfortunately it was May Day, there was a 4 hour queue for any of the caves! So we walked from the caves up the hill, had lunch in a very quaint little restaurant at the top. Wandered through the 2 monasteries. The scenery was beautiful
