I like to frequent libraries in cities I visit. A visit to Greensboro central library is not much different from most public libraries in other small town. Spread out over two floors, It is well stocked –with books, DVDs, music and computer workstations - and well-staffed. The only minus: many of the ‘patrons’ at the time of my visit were... More

Love the location but on occasion I have been a bit leery of going inside when I have seen some scary looking persons hanging around. The management is excellent and all of the staff is very informed of the books and materials in the library.

Downtown Central Library: If you didn't have to put up with the bums lying around on the sidewalk outside or those tying up the computers inside playing games (not job searching), a person could get some work done. Not a place you want to take a child unless you want to show him what happens when you dropout of school... More

Open and airy 2 story pubic library. It's attractively laid out with plenty of work and reading space, helpful staff and a good regional genealogy collection. There is free WIFI and, if you're an out-of-towner (as I was) and need to use a computer, a staff member can arrange for a guest pass if you have ID. You can get to... More

If you're still into reading actual books, they offer a nice selection. They also have movies that you can check out, along with music. They have free internet access and printing is cheap. Helpful staff.

If you want to catch up on the local news, rest in a quiet and cool area, or give your children a place to play indoors in hot or poor weather, the central library downtown is excellent. It is across the street from the Children's Museum as well.

When this Library first opened it was very nice very clean very well attended and well staffed and stocked. It appears the number of magazines, books and papers are down from what I remember in the past when I visited . area has become an area for homeless to hang out . Outside the library close to the parking garage seems... More

Our primary objective was the Children's Museum, and this building is right across the street with easy access via a nice wide crosswalk. Upon entering, there is a snack bar and used book section. I enjoyed a latte there, as did my husband and daughter later. Our grandson found it hard to leave the museum, so I took my Nook... More

Felt the need to secure all bags, children and personal items. Getting past the crowd to even get into the building felt very scary.........they need to clean up the area so you feel safe going in. They have a great selection but its too scary to enter downtown
