A great, useful downtown library

Two floors, well stocked with learning materials, computers, books for every age and taste. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's quiet, like a library should be, but... read more

This two story library is beautifully built and meets the needs of all ages. The second floor has stuff for adults and computers and quiet places to work. The main level is split in two with children's area with picture books, chapter books, computers, and fun places to read, and an adult area too. This library is downtown and has... More

Two floors, well stocked with learning materials, computers, books for every age and taste. The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. It's quiet, like a library should be, but there are always lots of people inside, taking advantage of this great resource. If you've been without a good public library, as I was for many years, you'll appreciate one this... More

Diversified, helpful topics. Computers, etc. I love reading. Convenient location, across from Children's Museum.

The Greensboro Public Library system is excellent. The Central, Hemphill, Kathleen Clay Edwards, and Lake Brandt branches are all different. The Central Library downtown offers the most space and selection. They have also been kind enough to display our photography club's images for the past several years. We are currently on display through March. Hemphill is devoted to the arts.... More

I take my grandchildren to the library, but like some of the other locations better. They like the children's room. The bad thing about this library is it's a hang out for homeless people and they are always around and some are very creepy. Staff seems to be ok, except for a short blonde and black haired girl, she hasn't... More

I love the library and we take our kids almost every week to check out new books. We usually go to the KCB library on New Garden street but decided to try this one for a change. There was no free parking anywhere close to the library. While we could have paid to park in a garage close by, we... More

We visited this branch of the library on the same day as the Greensboro Historical Museum. Of all the branches this is one of my favorites because of the beautiful artwork on all the floors and in some of the halls. I will however offer a bit of caution for the time being, as there is construction going on between... More

We use two of the branch l;ibraries. They are able to get any book we want. Staff are knowledable and polite. The branches serve neighborhoods in the city and each is unique and pleasant. Some have reading rooms with fireplaces and are in a garden setting

I like to frequent libraries in cities I visit. A visit to Greensboro central library is not much different from most public libraries in other small town. Spread out over two floors, It is well stocked –with books, DVDs, music and computer workstations - and well-staffed. The only minus: many of the ‘patrons’ at the time of my visit were... More

Love the location but on occasion I have been a bit leery of going inside when I have seen some scary looking persons hanging around. The management is excellent and all of the staff is very informed of the books and materials in the library.
