I thoroughly enjoyed my visit to this museum. The tour was engaging and informative, and the guide was very pleasant and knowledgeable. I think they've done an excellent job recounting the history of the Civil Rights Movement, and the sit-in at the Woolworth counter in particular. I saw and learned some things that were very moving. I think this museum... More

I learned a lot at this museum, however they only do group tours so we were subjected to going around the museum with a high school field trip. Awkward and annoying. And there were so many of us that we couldn't stop and really look at everything and read. We were rushing off to the next part and stumbling over... More

We were surprised that we could not walk through the museum on our own but had to take a guided tour. The tour guide, Ian, was terrific. The tour was terrific as well. Much of what we were told was a review for me, but I also learned new facts--disturbing ones. The Woolworth building and the sit-in is an important... More

It would be hard to imagine a more moving experience. Great foresight to preserve the Woolworth and lunch counter. The museum gives the history of not only the civil rights movement but also the reasons and history as to why it was needed. Our tour guide, Brandon, was beyond superlative - this young man is going places! He also challenges... More

I find it somewhat difficult to clearly describe my visit to the International Civil Rights Museum - maybe I need a little more time to digest the experience. But I can say that it is a tremendously powerful museum that reminds us all of a shared history that unfolded (and continues to unfold) in our recent past. I am not... More

This museum tells the story of a very importable, yet often forgotten piece of American history. Today we take integration for granted, but my mother grew up with segregation for most of her childhood. I happened to visit one afternoon in between school groups. The tour was good. Our guide was nice and full of information and the group was... More

The Civil Rights Museum is in the heart of downtown Greensboro. It gives a respectful look back at the sit-in movement spawned by four freshmen students at North Carolina A&T State University. The museum offers guided tours in small groups. My only dislike is that touring with the group does not give one much time to read many of the... More

We came by on a Friday morning around 10:30. The ticket person told us there were about 200 elementary school children in there and we would be better served to return for a tour at noon. We came back at noon for our tour. It was a little disorganized in getting started. Apparently there were tons of school groups and... More

The Int Civil Rights Museum is a must see of anyone living in this century so we can ensure we learn from history and the pain that many endured for no reason. The exhibit is very powerful at many points. Half way through the tour you end up at the exact location where 4 African Americans led a "Sit In"... More

This was a fun trip for our family and it was nice that they put us in with a small group rather than a huge group that had just started so we could hear and see better. There were lots of interesting exhibits, but our guide didn't give enough background to the civil rights movement at the start of the... More
