Love this area. This is a beautiful quiet drive through some the best examples of Gatlingburg beauty.

This is a most beautiful drive. You see it all. We saw the mountains, the rivers meeting up together, waterfalls, hiking trails, wildlife, old cabins from the 1800's. And all is cost is a little gas and sometime. We went twice in one day. We went early and at dusk to see what was moving. We saw deer and wild... More

My husband and I visited Gatlinburg this past weekend. We had been advised to drive the 'loop' in the Smoky Mtn National Park which is approximately 11 miles almost right within town. There are plenty of places to pull over and look at incredible scenery. The running streams and rapids are amazing just from the car view. We love to... More

Not as busy as Cades Cove, but not as easy to pass the person doing 5 mph in a 15 mph (I can enjoy nature at 15 mph without having my blood pressure go through the roof). Had to go on this to access the trail to Grotto Falls (which was awesome following a few inches of rain!!). Had a... More

Hard to believe this scenic drive is at the edge of Gatlinburg. Roll down the windows and enjoy nature at its best. There are several trailheads on the loop with lots of waterfalls and overlooks. We have seen bears, deers, and other wildlife many times while driving. Everyone in our family always makes sure we do this drive while vacationing... More

If you don't enjoy nature then this is not for you. It is a very slow paced drive through the mountains to try and get a glimpse of wildlife. My husband and I love this little piece of Heaven in Gatlinburg. W have seen several bear, one day there was a Mama bear and her cubs laying up in a... More

Be sure to take a little time to get out of the car. We plan to take more time next time and walk back to a couple of the falls and take more pictures. Although the number of people were not "too" bad, we will make sure to go at a time when we can enjoy it even more.

Love the water - lots of great photo opportunities and good for wildlife and wildflower watching. It takes a while to go through with the very low speed requirements - so don't be in a hurry. You shouldn't be anyway! :o)
