There are helmets available upon request at the cashier when u pay for the excursion. They do weigh you prior to mounting up and that is for YOUR SAFETY and THE HORSES... More

My husband and kids have been coming down to the Smokies for the past four years and we never ever skip the horseback riding at the Sugarland Stables. Not only is it easily accessible at the beginning of the park (right near the entrance from Gatlinburg), the staff is AWESOME AND FRIENDLY! The trail ride is never a disappointment and... More

Enjoyed the ride with my fifteen year old and a friend. Did the one hour tour which was long enough for us. People were very nice. Pleasant trail ride through the mountains. Lots of wildflowers in bloom.

With a single guide leading the horses, you will be responsible to navigate your horse on narrow, very steep, sometimes muddy trails. The front desk lady gave one advice: “listen and follow the guide”. Very hard to do when several horses separate you from the guide. DO NOT USE ADDRESS ON THIS LISTING FOR GPS DIRECTION, the riding stables are on two mile branch road near the Sugarland welcome center in Gatlingburg. Our family of four decided to do an early morning 1.5 hr tour. There were quite a few groups there when we arrived a little after 9. This was a first time horseback riding... More

This is such a great way to see the amazing views away from the crowds. I was a little nervous before, but our guide was well experienced and helped me feel at ease.

Fantastic views of the mountain and forest. Really takes you up to the top of the mountain, away from civilization. Extremely friendly staff, from the office staff to the guides. The best riding experience ever. Definitely recommend.
