I always love riding horses so getting a chance to do so in the mountains is neat. They tell you all you need to know about how to control the horse so if you're a beginner you'll be fine. The guide didn't say a lot though and was kind of grumpy, which is why I gave it a 4/5.

We've visited the stables for enjoyable and safe rides and would go again if physically able since 1971.

Our family group of 11 took the one hour ride. We all enjoyed it thoroughly. The scenery was beautiful and the guides were friendly. The horses were easy to handle.

My husband and I both novices but the horses we were paired with were so good. They know what they are doing and you just have to stay on. I rode coal shovel who was a dream. Such a good horse. I was v anxious to start but soon relaxed and enjoyed the ride. As others have said the route... More

My husband and I took our two daughters (ages 8 and 5) on a 1 hour ride. It was our girls' first real horseback ride (besides getting walked in a circle). They put our 5 year old on the biggest horse they had available at the time, named Mose. He was such a gentle giant. We learned he is also... More

The ride was great but we were told the wait would be 45 minutes and that turned into 1.5 hours. That can mess your day up if you're not careful. Our kids were getting very impatient, too. Our guide was nice and the staff was friendly. We would definitely do it again but next time we would show up right... More

We arrived at 10:45 am and paid. We weren't told it would be 1.5 hours before our ride. Finally we asked and were told to come back in 50 minutes. Reservations might work better. They asked who was the "meanest" and my friends said me jokingly so I was apparently given the slow and lazy horse and the mean part... More

We arrived early and managed to get a ride straight away - as you can not pre book - went on the hour and a half ride. Very scenic but thought the footpath was very muddy - even for the horses. I rode Stumpy and my husband rose Blossom- both very lovely horses. Blossom tripped close to the end of... More

The day before my husband and I were to leave Gatlinburg, we had an appointment for a horse ride at the Sugarland Stables. My husband parked the car, and we made our trip uphill to talk to someone about our reservations. We were greeted immediately, and we were given wristbands. Our appointment was at 6:00 p.m., but we did not... More
