You really should try this once, it is amazing. We drove up to Ober and then purchased round trip tickets. The young men at the information booth were very helpful and warned us that there could be a line coming back up to the top because many people would be buying tickets at the base. They were right, that was... More

Not many people so views were awesome. Many of the shops were closed. Would have like to have an Old Time photo, but the two people sitting in the chairs said the photographer was on break. Ok if you don't pay for anything else

Large tram fits 120 people. If you want to get a great view though, you have to get close to the window or you'll be stuck in the middle looking at just your neighbor. Female operator was lots of fun with tons of information and jokes about the scenery on the way up, however the gentleman operator on the way... More

Because of the snow and poor road conditions, we took the tram up to ski at Ober. It was packed both ways. We were so jammed in there, we could not even enjoy the views around us. If it was not as packed as it was, I believe we would have enjoyed it a lot more. The price is pretty... More

Nice ride with excellent views of snow covered mountains and mountain side chalets. Attendant pointed out a few notable sights. 12 bucks is a bit steep for what you get. $5 would be more realistic.

You basically have to take the tram. There are other options but they take longer and cost more. The wind was horrible on the way up. They closed the tram within an hour of our trip. So we had to take a bus down. The issue is that no one tells you the tram is closed. Lots of confusion. The... More

It was a pleasant experience but maybe a little pricey. The lower staff was attendant and helpful. No so much for the older guy in the upper ticket booth. We asked him if there was anyplace for the little kids to sled around Gatlinburg and he replied, "there is no place". Luckily, a local man standing close by directed us... More

Beautiful views on your trip up the mountain. Perty cool ski lodge at the top, you can watch the skiers, play vidio games or ice skate or do a little shopping. On our way down the tram was packed, so not much of a view on the way down. The tram was running every 20 minutes so we could have... More

Preface: This review is related to the review I wrote for the park. It encompasses Ober Gatlinburg as a company not just the tramway. My family and I visited Ober with a group from church. Although this was my family's first time visiting Gatlinburg the church conference was celebrating its 25th annual retreat all of which occurred in Gatlinburg and... More

The price is a little high but what do you expect in a tourist city? The view is totally worth it in my opinion and on the right day it can provide quite a thrill when a little wind hits the gondola. The staff is also very great but wouldn't help to settle any fear of heights you may have.... More
