Actually this is the best way to travel up the mountain and see some things, we saw some bears playing in someone's yard, so that was cool. Also if drive up the mountain and there's no parking, then you have to drive back down and ride anyway. They could cut back on parking and tram prices though. ...

I'm not sure if Gatlinburg is busy year round, but we visit every year between Christmas and New Years, and it's packed. Usually we are able to visit the attractions without too much wait, but the line for the tram was incredibly long. I cannot say for sure, but I believe we waited about an hour + just to buy... More

This is a must atleast once. Beautiful views all around. Its not easy but try and time getting in line when you have a shot of being in the first 20 or so. You get a window view and are not standing in the middle of the tram.

Well, I gave it 5 stars even though I was petrified because I'm afraid of heights but our tram guide was awesome ! Her name was Star and she was the sweetest lady. Talked me through the whole ride and made me feel at ease . Highly recommended because of her and if I were able to open my eyes... More

Zero visibility on the day we road up. It had cleared slightly when we left that evening, but could only see the ground in a couple of spots. Neat experience though. Traveled with four adults and two children under four. Children under five ride free.

Go at a time when there aren't a lot of people if you don't want to be crammed in the car and don't mind a little sway. However, the views are nice and there's lots to do up at the top: There's a small zoo, an ice skating ring, and various shopping and eating opportunities. There's also a skiing experience... More

If you are short you cannot grab the railings on the ceiling and the poles to hold unto are limited. That is my only complaint. I love Ober Gatlinburg. It is really laid back on the sky resort. It is fun to watch the kids skating. When you get up to the sky resort you have the option to go... More

This view was beautiful. This is something you can do each time you visit here. It is an excellent way to see views that you won't normally see and the Smokies are just breathtaking.
